Guest guest
Well Duh-me. Hmmmm--a link on ever email for flushing. Sorry bout that. Still couldn't find anything about flushing when you have pancreas pain though. Any comments? JoyceB
Guest guest
Joyce, I'm glad to hear that you are exploring new options and will probably soon be flushing. On a side note, however, I'm not convinced that the pain you describe is related to your pancreas. I realize there is much individual variation in how pain radiates. When I've had frank pancreatitis and was hospitalized (both times were gallstone obstruction-induced i.e. Ashcroft Disease) the pancreatic enzymes went off the chart and basically imploded my pancreas. Where I felt the pain was that which was referred to my mid to lower back and it was bad enough to make one go from being afraid one will die to being afraid one won't! Dilaudid was the only narcotic that gave me some solace. The GI docs don't know much about anything in general but they did tell me it was common for pancreatitis patients to feel it in the back area. Once the lipase and amylase levels plummeted to near the normal range again, the severe back pain subsided accordingly. Guest guest
Actually--I had an ultrasound in 12/03 where the main pancreatic duct was overly dilated. When she put the wand on the area, it was even obvious enough for me to see something was amiss. When I asked her what it was, she said it was my pancreas and the report notes the dilation. It was discounted even though I told her I had pain right in that exact spot. Go figure... I sometime turn the wrong way and get a stabbing pain in that spot, but the pain often becomes so intense and protracted (days to a few weeks) that I've gone to emergency with it. Last time, he doctor scoffed at me and told me he'd call an ambulance for me if I couldn't drive home. Said I'd had too many negative tests to have anything. My cat scan noted the " impression " that I have fatty liver, but now I'm wondering if it's not stones. I just need to get up my courage. I'm more concerned that the stones might end up in my pancreas than anything.
