Hi everyone,

I run a support group for the state of Oregon under the umbrella of the

Arthritis

Foundation, and I am also a big supporter of CARRA. CARRA stands for Childhood

Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance. It is a group of pediatric

rheumatologists

from across the United States and Canada that have banded together to research

the cause

of JRA and to work for a cure.

Portland, Oregon had the first walk/run in the nation for CARRA in June. If any

other city

is interested in forming a walk/run, a guideline can be found at

www.carragroup.org.

Next Monday an auction is being held in Portland with all proceeds going to

CARRA.

Below is information about it.

I share this information in hopes that other cities will start fundraising

activities for

CARRA.

Hello,

We would like to take this opportunity to tell you all about 's Eve, our

charity auction

being held next Monday the 28th of August. The event will be held at this years

Street of

Dreams in Pietra Mar, built by Hillcrest Construction, Inc. Most all of the

furnishings as

well as other products from the subcontractors that helped create Pietra Mar

will be up for

bid. The money earned will go to the CARRA foundation, a charity to fund

research for

children with rheumatic diseases. Even if you aren't interested in bidding on

any items,

more than half of your ticket proceeds will go to the foundation.

Beyond the furnishings, some of the auction items will include a Weber

bar-b-que, a

washer and dryer, a custom built kitchen island, artwork from our artist Robin

Damore, a

Four Winds Fun Mover RV, and a trip to Mexico to name a few. The event will be

catered

by local restaurant Flambe, and drinks will be served. The event will begin at

5:00 pm, but

people are welcome to arrive at any time. The silent auction will be held until

6:45 pm to

allow people to arrive from work. The live auction will then begin at 7:00 pm.

We
