Guest guest
Hi , I thought I would chime in here, for n and are so similar. n has been battling JRA and missing school, too. We brought her to the rheumy last week, and he gave her three options. Up the mtx, go on steroids, or go back on enbrel. She chose the enbrel. We will give it 2-4 weeks, and then we will move to kineret. n has missed well over the 10 days allowed per semester. She is like your daughter, in that 5 days of school a week is too much for her. Things are complicated with this disease, but it looks like n may be fighting depression. Seven years of battling systemic has taken its toll on her. We are going to get her some counseling starting tomorrow. Many of her dreams have had to be changed with this disease, regarding high jumping and college. Guest guest
Hi , She is doing okay in school, but the missed days do take a toll. She has a 3.7, but it is hard to maintain being sick a lot. She is applying to some hard colleges, so the pressure is on her to keep the grades up. We want her to go on the West coast, but her dream college is Brown. Rhode Island is not very close to Oregon. Her second choice is the University of Washington, which I am hoping for. I worry about n, and this last bump has been tough on me. I continue to run. I have also taken up rock climbing. Maybe, it is middle age crisis. I enjoy the climbing, for you really have to concentrate while climbing. You can't think about your problems at all. When I run, I still think. So needless to say, I am getting pretty lean and mean. I am the oldest woman climbing at this particular gym by about two decades. The young ones kind of just look at me. No telling what they think. I have signed up for another half marathon next May. It gives me something to works towards. Take care, On Nov 13, 2006, at 2:02 PM, wrote: > > Hi , > > I¹m sorry that n is not doing well. As soon as Georgina approved our pictures, check out Hannah's album on the group site. You will see a picture of our team. Hannah is in the wheelchair and I am standing to her right with the red/green Christmas hat on; Mike is right behind me in the Santa hat and Jay is on the left of picture in the black winter hat. The other 2 pictures are close-ups of our team tshirts, modeled by Hannah. > > Beth > > >
