Now it's you, Will and myself, 3 long time vegetarians who suffered from gallstones. Anyone else vegetarian over 10 years who suffer from gallstones please speak up. This is what I recommend Everyone's body is different but it was the introduction of raw organic goat yogurt (healthy sat. fat) Raw organic goat kefir raw organic butter, Raw organic goat cheese that's what helped me!!!! Emphasis on the word raw, this good raw goat stuff full of enzymes and healthy fats that's what my body needed. i think it will help you too. I started noticing the difference and believe me I was anti consuming any animal products but I have to tell you I think that stuff saved my life. Start slowly and moderately of course Goat dairy products are a lot healthier than cow products and again emphasis on raw and organic. Don't worry it tastes great!!!!!! Start with the kefir it's the best!!!! Many people who are lactose intolerant do very well on goat dairy. When I was vegan I consumed plenty of " healthy fats " Coconut oil, almonds, vitamin E supplements, cold pressed virgin organic olive oil, avocados, all of it. Flax seed oil etc. All plant fats and Don't get me wrong they're great and you need them in your diet too but my point is they didn't prevent me from developing gallstones. The body needs healthy sat. fats, at least my body did. I was a raw foodist for while so i ate plenty of raw organic healthy nuts, obviously that doesn't prevent gallstones because I got them anyway. I realize now that What I did wrong was eating too much sugar (I ate lots of vegan cookies and other vegan sweets) If you do this, stop right away. One of the leading contributors to my gallstone was my sweetooth, as a Vegan I constantly ate uncle eddy's vegan cookies. Avoid all refined sugar, cookies, cakes muffins etc Stop eating it right now!!!!!! I'm going to suggest Barlean flax seed oil for you if you don't take it already. Avoid wheat products especially bread , pastas Wheat is really hard on the liver. Drink lots of water and exercise ) __________________________________ Discover Stay in touch with email, IM, photo sharing and more. Guest guest
Now if I can only figure out where to get kefir and these other goat products. I love feta cheese, but mine is not organic and probably not raw. Too bad my goat isn't producing milk. -----Original Message----- From: gallstones [mailto:gallstones ] On Behalf Of denise milfort Sent: Monday, May 23, 2005 4:42 PM gallstones Subject: RE: Traci (healthy fats for gallstones) --- Traci <tracic@...> wrote: > I have been a vegetarian for 18 years, but not > vegan. Guest guest
You can get kefir grains by joining a group that is all about kefir and they will usually mail you the grains for just the cost of postage. You will likely find someone locally that way. Finding the raw milk, now that's another story, unless you live in California or Connecticut or Pennsylvania. There are cow share programs in states that don't openly sell raw milk -- you'd have to go to www.realmilk.com to find a location near you. I'm feeling better and better about my raw goat's milk again. Lori
