Its kinda a chicken and egg thing -- which came first -- gummed up liver or excess estrogen (which causes bloating, PMS and peri-menopausal symptoms which are normally estrogen-dominance symptoms). Read up on this if you are interested at Chang's site www.sensiblehealth.com I have not taken Fem-Mate, her product, but as I have cleaned my liver with her other products my hot flashes have abated. Guest guest
I've read that birth control pills leave a spot in the liver. All drugs are filtered through the liver, so if you can do without drugs as much as possible you'd be doing your liver a favor. I've always cleansed every 2 weeks no matter what. For me, waiting even the 2 weeks is torture. Though I have felt weaker when cleansing during my periods. I feel that all cleanses are good though I feel that the system I have works really well. I've found that the amount of olive oil directly affects the amount of stones: more oil - more stones. The epsoms guarantee that the stones will come out easily. I tried 1 cup of oil all at once even with more fresh grapefruit juice and nearly vomited! It was close, and I'll never do that again, ugh. The other thing I found was making sure I only had fruit that day. I tried different combinations of foods and any food that has protein will also block the stones from coming out. For a long time, I was eating red potatoes with salt during a cleanse, and didn't get many stones out during months of cleansing. It wasn't until I started drinking several glasses of organic apple juice during the cleanse that I started having really good results. For those that suffer from Candida, I read that eating a bit of peel from the fruit, or seeds tend to make the system more Yang, thereby counteracting any Candida. This may help you tolerate the fruit. Maybe eating part of an apple core, or the peel. Another thing to consider is making sure you've done some kind of parasite killing right up to the day of the cleanse, at least for a few days. If you stick to just fruit during your cleanse and drink the apple juice, you'll find yourself pretty cleaned out before you even have the epsoms. I've found it to be quite laxative and the apple juice cleans out the liver due to the malic acid. There's more malic acid in the organic juice than the commercial brands of juice which is why it works so well. You might just need to reevaluate your cleansing technique and try something else if it's not working well for you.
Guest guest
And of course being overweight in itself is a source of excess estrogen. (Said after eating a maple and chocolate easter egg. WHERE'S THE LECITHIN. ) Old habits hard to break -- but at least I'm eating only about 20% as much bad stuff as before attack.... Guest guest
Thanks ladies for all the hints on cleansing during our monthlies........ I have a question about using the olive oil, have you ever tried the flax seed oil for a cleanse if so, were your results as good as with olive oil? thanks, Dee
Guest guest
Hi Carol, I hope you realize that sugar is one of the causes gallstones! The biggest thing you can do to prevent gallstones is cut out the sugar and exercise. Another is to take a high quality Silybin which is better than regular milk thistle. What works best for me is to not buy the stuff or keep it in the house. Work, though is challenging at times, but it's getting better there, too. Not as many holiday sweets as there used to be. Guest guest
I don't know about drinking flax seed oil for a cleanse. It's too expensive to drink in large quantities, don't you think? I buy olive oil in bulk sizes at Sam's Club.
Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to the group I'm 30 yrs old and I just had my 4th baby 4 weeks ago. I believe I am experiencing gallbladder attacks from everything I have read. It sounds like it anyway, I don't have a lot of time to write but am wondering if anyone has done a cleanse while nursing a newborn. If so please let me know which cleanse you did. Do you think it is safe to cleanse while nursing? Thanks!
Guest guest
Hello Randi, I've been off the pills for almost a year now. I immediately stopped taking them when I found out what was causing my GB disease. Of course, the hot flashes came back and the other symptoms of peri-menopause but I have since then supplemented with herbs for support during this time. I would strongly recommend to anyone, Do not take the BC pills or HRT. There are natural alternatives that will give relief for the symptoms without side effects. I learned my lesson the hard way. thanks again for the advice, Dee
Guest guest
Thanks for support. As one cuts back drastically and STLL sees problems, one realizes how important it is. Also, I find I become more sensitive to negative effects of sugar the less I do, which also reinforces that it is bad. My biggest problem is roommate who buys goodies and then only does a taste and doesn't care if I eat the rest!. So I throw them in the freezer and they become less and less tempting til I toss them :-) CM lightwalkercathy@... wrote: > Hi Carol, > > I hope you realize that sugar is one of the causes gallstones!
