Guest guest
Hey WIll: How long is the shelf life for CO? I have an unopened but abused jar that is probably 2 years old. What do you think? The abuse is that it sat on the kitchen counter near heat, BUT it is Traditions brand (the first one you used) so its at least good stuff to start with. (Atlanta, who has decided it is time to get off her duff and try this CO stuff)
Guest guest
No machine has ever been designed that is as sensitive to spoilage or deterioriation than the well-trained human nose! Give your old CO the ORGANOLEPTIC (taste and smel)l test and if you can't detect any flaws it's OK. CO has an incredible shelf life as do all saturated oils. They find Egyptian olive oils packed in amphora in the pyramids that's still delicious. If you are in doubt, order some new stuff and use up your abused CO EXTERNALLY as a hair and scalp conditioner, massage oil, foot rub, or skin moisturizer. It also makes a good conditioner following a pet shampoo for Fifi. You can also make a " suet " ball out of it with seeds and give it to the birdies. Some of the leather conditioners also use tropical oils for their lubrication. Give me some time and I'll probably come up with a few more! Cripe, you'd think I must SELL this stuff (but I don't!)!
