I think there's the issue on saturated fats...

but the proponents of virgin coco oil say otherwise:

now i don't know what to believe. :)

I'm doing a human medical experiment w/ coconut oil,. There's

only one subject, ME. I've been taking approximately 2

tablespoons of virgin high-quality CO daily for about 9 months

now. We also use CO for of our main cooking oils (along with

butter, extra virgin olive oil, and organic lard. The results are

really great. I mix the CO with nut butters or butter for a great

breakfast spread. I also put it into smoothies. I'm feeling better

than ever.

Dr. Tom Cowan (westonapricefoundation.com) has directly

stated that CO really helps emulsify bile and thus prevents stone

and sludge formation. It's also anti-inflammatory (which is good),

anti-microbial (also good), and helps many other systems. One

interesting benefit is to help prevent skin melanoma from uv

exposure. See the highly recommended new book by Sally

Fallon and Enig EAT FAT, LOSE FAT. It explains how you

can use CO to lose weight and get healthier (including the liver

and GB).

I used to get my CO online via tropicaltraditons.com but I've since

found wildernessfamilynaturals.com which is located in my state

so delivery is slightly less. Both sell state-of-the-art coconut

products. Get it by the gallon for about $65 and enjoy!

Also read EAT FAT, LOSE FAT by Sally Fallon. It's loaded with

scientific information about the health benefits of coconut oils

(and much else).

My own use of CO, while I feel it is totally successful, hasn't really

been much of a true medical experiment since in science you try

to eliminate all variables but one (a prepostrous and impossible

notion but noble nonetheless) and study that one. In my own

case, I have probably tweaked over 100 variables to get where I

am now.

I haven't flushed in over a year but do all the dissolving

techniques almost daily. Thanks for the reminder to do the

Spring flush! I still believe in flushing. My wife just did a 7 day

water and herbs cleansing fast followed by the olive oil-lemon

juice-epsom salts flush. Powerful! She feels tremendous now!

I've previously enumerated several summations of the STONE

DISSOLVING TECHNIQUES I've used to good effect, as have

several others. from Atlanta is great on this topic. It's all in

the archives.

Regarding the CO, you really owe it to yourself to read holistic

doctor Tom Cowan of westonapricefoundation.com especially In

his new book " THE FOURFOLD PATH OF HEALING- Working

With the Laws of Nutrition, Therapeutics, Movement and

Meditation in teh Art of Medicine " . He unfurls his insight into the

true causation of gallstones. It's amazing how blind most MDs

and especially Gastroenterologists, are to these basic laws of

body rhythms and flow patterns. The " forgotten energetics " of

medicine.

This from the book " EAT FAT LOSE FAT " :

COCONUT OIL:

1) Ideal fat for those with GB ailments

2) Most of the fatty acids in CO don't require bile for digestion

3) Stone formation indicates the body has felt the need to

increase it's cholesterol reservoir (cholesterol stones)

4) This is because all bodies need to store cholesterol and will

increase storage if an adequate supply can't be insured.

5) A low fat diet is the worst thing you can do regarding stones

because it causes the body to store more cholesterol.

Plus the GB is not flushed enough. (It also causes your body

to store more body fat)

6) Vegetable oils (in excess) and trans fats INFLAME the GB

avoid all hydrogenated vegetable oils.

7) Eat plenty of organic, grass-fed butter and fat, also wild fish

IF THE GB HAS BEEN REMOVED

1) Eat good animal fat and avoid processed vegetable oils

2) Eat 3 meals a day at regular times, minimize snacking

3) Add OX BILE tablets with each meal

4) Take SWEDISH BITTERS (1/2tsp with water) before meals.

5) Take COD LIVER OIL and other foods rich in VITAMIN D

6) Avoid processed and grilled meats and other carcinogens.

As with ALL new plans or ideas, go slowly and trust your own

body instincts. We all have our individual idiosyncracies.
