Hi everyone,

My brother is in hospital with intense abdominal

pain [deep,knifelike, in the area around the navel.}

He has a large gallstone, but the tests they have done

show the gallbladder is functioning well, the stone is

not in a duct and there does'nt seem to be any

infection. They have done a cat scan, an MRI,blood

work, and all the standard lab tests and can't find

anything. He has also had some vomiting, and diarrhea

and belching. He is on pain IV meds every 2hrs,

antibiotics,and pepcid. He also has hep c. But they

say his Liver enzymes and function look good.Now they

are saying they want to take his gallbladder even

though the pain area does'nt make sense for that. They

are also running a stool check tonight. Awhile back

someone wrote about a similar attack and it seems

there was a nerve involved in the intestines. Anyone

have any info???? Thanks . Carmen
