since she has never had an attack - why don't you

naturally approach the issue?

Everyone I know who has had their gallbladder removed has had ongoing problems

with chronic diarrhea being one common denominator that I can recall. Besides,

anytime you have surgery your body is being traumatized and you are losing an

organ that has been put their for a reason. If she's not having attacks, and

especially at her age, good heavens! I wouldn't even consider it.

I have a friend who had her gall bladder out years ago, and she has had no

problems associated with it. No diarrhea or anything. Problems do not have

to occur when you have your gall bladder out.

Fortunately, my gall bladder problems have resolved. So I kept mine, but it

was the result of dumping a BUNCH of bile after a colonoscopy. The cleanout

aggravated my gall bladder enough so whatever was blocking it poofed

through. I was in extreme pain for about ten days after that. (and no --

the doctor did nothing about it.) When I finally had an " official " gall

bladder test after that, my gall bladder was fine. I think I may have had

micro-crystals gumming up the works.
