New to the group - hope you don't mind me sharing the gb problem I

am having...wondering if a flush would be safe for me because:

I recently had a severe gallbladder attack & infection and was

hospitalized for 12 days with Acute Cholecystitis. I was on IV

antibiotics and had high fever most of the time. Emergency GB

surgery was being considered - but because of the severe infection

it was deemed very dangerous & the surgeons wanted the infection to

subside...During the treatment, a JP drain was installed which some

leakage of infection into my bloodstream caused me to go into septic

shock from which I did recover. I am now pending surgery...which

is scheduled for week of August 8. I asked surgeon & internist

about " saving " ie " healing " my gb.( Surgen said " oh, no, we don't

save it - we send it to the lab for pathology..LOL) Both Dr's said

my infection was so severe that I almost died...and chances are

should I have another attack - it would certainly be worse. I had

little discomfort before I went to the ER. I thought I had a

flu...but then I had back pain between my shoulder blades, high

fever, and cessation of elimination activity and began

bloating.....I thought I had a bowel obstruction....so anyway - I am

also diabetic, but my sugars are in strict control, and I am on oral

meds, walking 30 minutes a day. I did have a few tiny stones...3

mm or less...exit thru the drain. Also, I did pass a 6 mm kidney

stone in Sept. of 2004.

The surgeon wants me to be on a " low, low, low, low, low fat diet "

at least until surgery and I am also on a low glycemic index diet as

well, but my blood sugar is now very well controlled. I actually

feel great - just can't overdo it or I get sore.

So any suggestions about using the flush, healing the gall bladder,

avoiding surgery are greatly appreciated...obviously I can refuse

surgery....but I still have the drain in place and more than likely,

the blockage that caused the infection is still in the GB...becasue

when I change the drain from suction to gravity - I

get " uncomfortable " after a few hours.

Thank you so much!!
