Guest guest
Does anyone know if headaches and JRA have anything to do with one another? My son can get some really bad headaches and Iam not sure if thats common or could it be something else. Hes on the Enbreal shot so I thought maybe it was a sideaffect from that also. I would like to hear from others if they have experince headaches with JRA. Thanks from Ohio
Guest guest
: Hannah has suffered from migraines for the 2 years. Are they connected to her arthritis, I don't know. I have never received a clear answer on that, but then again, I also have never been told what specific type of arthritis she has either. I would mention it to the doctor the next you see him and also journal the headaches to see if they correlate to times he takes his meds, or certain times during the week/day, etc. Beth & Hannah, 11, unspecified arthritis w/hypermobility; asthma; gerd; migraines Sending prayers & happy thoughts, Beth :-) JRA and headaches? Guest guest
Hi , Donna from KY here and yes I believe there is a link. What the link is I am not sure. I suffer migraines and have for many, many years and it seems not to be uncommon among JRA/RA patients. I also have heard that people who suffer migraines tend to have other pain syndromes... Guest guest
Hi , My son began getting headaches not long after diagnosed - we found out that it was his blood pressure.? The combination of the prednisolone he was taking and the addition of cyclosporine was the culprite - he was started on medication for hypertension (high blood pressure) and the headaches stopped. Val Rob's Mom (10, systemic) JRA and headaches? Does anyone know if headaches and JRA have anything to do with one another? Guest guest
Donna, You know me and researching a lot of thing's. Ummmm I had Migraines before was born real bad. One of my Dr's said what ever you can get to Dilate the Veins or Vessels is what is needed when you start with one. I have taken several meds but have not taken the meds for Migraines that have come out. I do take 4 aspirins at 1 time when I feel one coming on. That's me though. I know this thins out the blood to pass easier. This works for me so far. I have tried another drug but have not taken that in many years. lololol. The Aspirins work for me so far lolol. is allergic to Aspirin. I do believe there's a related issue between the Migraines and JA and now look at how many have Asthma and JA. Guest guest
Izzy, Good Theory on the Spine and Neck pain and the Migraines. I will keep this in mind. Stress can cause the neck to tighten and what happens then a Headache appears. Good thought girlfriend Robbin **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
I also get migraines and have been since adolescents when I would say all of my pain issues got worse. Because I have myofascial/fibromyalgia conditions, headaches/migraines are common so they have been blamed on that. My thoughts about JRA and migraines would be related to the spinal/neck problems from JRA. I know my neck pain def. increases my getting a migraine triggered. Guest guest
Robbin, have you ever taken fiorecet(sp)..it is beta, caffeine, and tylenol. I have taken it for years for migrains. When I had a bad headache after a spinal tap, my neuro ordered me to drink high caffineated drinks until it was gone. Caffeine does the same thing. Hope this helps. Might be something to try with kids who have migraines? Even a coke with caffeine would be worth a try! cynde Re: JRA and headaches? Donna, You know me and researching a lot of thing's. Guest guest
I have also been told to take an over the counter (Tylenol, motrin) with a caffienated drink at first signs of migraine. Sometimes it does help and I can avoid Migraine meds...Donna Re: JRA and headaches? Robbin, have you ever taken fiorecet(sp)..it is beta, caffeine, and tylenol. I have taken it for years for migrains.
