Guest guest
Georgina, If I read your post right, you said something about there being a shortage of Indomethacin. It is just a problem in Hawaii or where. I have not had trouble getting it here, but I have only been on in for just over a month. I like it and think it is going to be what works for me. I waited a long time to even get somehting sicne I did not have insurance and then found out that it is a $4 med on the Wal-mart list. I hope you can get them for Josh soon. And, by the way I loved you Christmas card. Veri & Jaye 13 poly ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever. Guest guest
Hi Veri, It came as a bit of a surprise to me. We were able to get 75mg sustained release capsules but the pharmacist told us there was a nationwide shortage so the 25 & 50mg capsules weren't available. This isn't the first time it's happened. More like the third, for this particular med. In the past, it's only ever been a matter of several weeks before they were available again. Maybe your pharmacy had some stockpiled supply and it won't even be an issue there. Helen had mentioned she couldn't get Nick's a while ago and it was a month or two before the shortage became noticeable on Maui. Our pharmacist called all over the island and couldn't secure any. At that time, Josh didn't weigh quite enough to consider the 75mg capsules. Though there are quite a few meds in the same category, surprisingly not all of them work as effectively for different individuals. Naproxen, Relafen, Celebrex .... they just didn't provide enough relief for Josh. Indomethacin seems much more effective for him. I do hope there won't be any problems with availability for others who may be taking it. I'm glad you liked the card. The card exchange was such a nice idea!
