Guest guest
Hi Doing it as we speak I have mercury poisoning as well so adrresing that using Cutler protocol Chinese medicing is a weekly visit that started 6 weeks ago - It has helped a lot. I can do a bot of excercise and recover much faster. I get accupuncture weekly plus hebs and tocic. Each week she checks chinese pulse, looks at my tongue, and eyes. No tests and stuff - I felt better within a week. She says my Chi is improving and she will cure me in 6 months. There is progress but I think that the mercury needs to be elliminated as well Cheers Chinese Herbs Thought I would throw this out there: have any of you tried Traditional Chinese Medicine? And by this I mean not simply accupuncture, but getting treated by a traditional oriental herbalist who basically customizes, with each visit, your own bag of herbs for you to boil into a tea. This is how diseases are treated in China the Eastern Way (often along with accupuncture and so forth). This is a long-term - and expensive - treatment for a chronic condition. Although I know it has done wonders for some people with other ailments, my M.D. says results with CFS are mixed, and it depends largely on the experience of the doctor. I was wondering if any of you have had any experiences one way or the other. - Chris
Guest guest
Hi I tried twice with Chinese herbs over 6 years ago for a period of 4 months each. It was a struggle to continue as the herbs themselves were very smelly and foul to drink but I've done far worse in attempts to combat this illness. In my case this was no improvement what-so-ever. There was also no worsening of symptoms thankfully. Just my experience. We are all so different. Kindest regards, Annette __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, This is great news - and it sounds less expensive (I think) than what I would try if I had $600 per month more to spend. The gal I wanted to see charges $40 per bag of herb, and sees you 2-3 times a week initially. This sounds a bit more affordable. Guest guest
Singapore - my doc was trained here and in china. The costs here for comparison sake is around US$40 per week that includes 1 consult, 1 session of energy building accupunture and 1 week of herbs. All the herbs are already packaged as tonic or pills, meaning that it eliminates the hassle of boiling Cheers Re: Chinese Herbs , This is great news - and it sounds less expensive (I think) than what I would try if I had $600 per month more to spend. Guest guest
This looks interesting, but without knowing the herbs that are in this formula, its hard to say if it would be beneficial or not. Usually you can take most herbs along with your thyroid meds, though I would go easy on the soy for obvious reasons. There are many herbs and /or blends that shouldn't be taken along with traditional medication due to drug interactions and without knowing what is actually IN this product I would take extra precautions. Guest guest
Hi : Thank you very much for taking the time to email me in details. It looks like you are hypo right now. I have been taking Tapazol for 2 years and have been tossed around between hyper and hypo constantly. The doctor just can't seem to get me in the right dosage. I tapered Tapzaol off myself in about 2-3 weeks time and started to take Thyrodex. I ran out of Thyrodex now and the web site that I purchased it from " TensionMasters " is under construction. The other company is selling it at $10.00 more for each bottle. I just can't bring myself to order it. Whenever I was hypo, I decreased my Tapazol and eat more seafood & kelp and it seemed to help. How did you find out the cost for Thryoid-Throu? I don't see i on the greenlife web site. Please reply only when you are feeling not tired. Take care, Pam
Guest guest
Thanks . I know I don't have $390.00 to order the Thyroid-Throu right now. May be later. I'm a little skeptical about it as well. In the meantime, you take good care of yourself. Pam
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum but have visited on and off for some times now. Regarding Green Life Herbal Pharmaceutical Ltd in HongKong, I'm aware of them and have been researching their product Thyroid-Throu for a few months. I'm having my traditional herbalist look into it also. Some of the herbs used are listed on the Website ( http://www.greenlife- herbal.com/ENGLISH/ ) They include White Ginseng, Hymalayan Teasel Root, Wild Dendrobium Stem, Rx. Salviae Multiouhizae, Herbal Nerviliac, and Thunberg Fritillary. I have more info and will give them to as I go. I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism for some 3 years now and have treated my sickness with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) through herbal teas and acupuncture. I have also been taking mineral and trace element supplements (Copper, Calcium/ Magnesium, Zinc... and would be happy to give full details). I'm also aware of many other herbs such as Buglewee, Lemon Balm, and Motherwort and will give more specifics later on. I was in excellent health with no sickness whatsoever. I have never been hospitalized or been on any medications. So when I was diagnosed with the thyroid disorder, I was shocked and felt terribly depressed. However, I decided not to give in and since then have done extensive research on hyperthyroidism. As of a year and a half, all of my symptoms have been cured and I felt better than ever before. However, about 6 months after that, some of my symptoms recurred and now most of them have come back. My hyperthyroidism is back and all my efforts seemed lost. Yet, I'm determined not to give in and continue with ways of healing the body naturally. As current, I'm tired much of the time, have racing heart, feels hot when others do not, and have difficulty falling asleep or going back to sleep. There are other symptoms, but these are the obvious ones. I'm still taking herbs and is looking at the disorder more closely and have found that the reason my thyroid disorder is back is because I was somewhat negligent and did not fully treat it the first time. Unless the disease is cured completely, the chance of it going into remission is much greater. This is a big lesson for me. My advice to everyone who have just been recently diagnosed with the disease is to thoroughly get your body but especially your thyroid checked: get your blood tests -- TSH, Free T3, Free T4, etc done. Get an ultra-scan to confirm for nodules. DO NOT do the RAI Uptake test (RAI 125) to check for Grave's Disease or the autoimmune's version -- Hashimoto's Disease. Instead take the blood test for stimulating TSH receptor antibodies. This is more specific and it doesn't expose you and the already stressed thyroid to excess radioiodine. Use your knowledge to fight it. Ask every questions possible, don't always believe your doctors, and whatever you do, don't do the RAI (Radioactive Iodine) 131 to treat it. This is not a safe cure as it is likely will give you another thyroid disorder -- hypothyroidism. Taking synthetic thyroid hormone Synthroid (and others) was not the answer for me. I have also learned that after a period of time (some 15+ years), your body will develop heart disoders from the medication. What I have just said is arguable, but again I wanted a better alternative. Unless your thyroid have cancerous nodules or you situation is life- threatening I wouldn't recomment removing your thyroid in any manner. I'm rambling on but feel I have a lot to share through my personal experience. I'm not against Western Medicine but feel that there are safer, more effective ways to treat the thyroid disorders. If you look at the other cultures, for thousands of years they have been living and treating thyroid disorders in their own ways. And much of it was effective. Sincerely, joey > Hi, there, > I was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroid. I'm about to start > tapasol, but I'm curious about chinese herbs. My doc said chinese > herbs are " absolutely a no-no " . Guest guest
Thank you for your detailed information. You must have felt horrible when you felt worse a few days after taking thyroid-throu. I'm originally from Taiwan and I know the danger of the Chinese herbs. I would not use any herbs made in China because I've seen a lot of bad news on TV. People took the weight-loss herbs made in China and lost their lives. Hong Kong is a very developed place before it was taken over by the Chinese government. They are always protesting for the freedom that they are losing after the Chinese government took over. I don't know what I should do next. I don't like to take Tapazol for the rest of my life and I'm worried about taking herbs that are not regulated. Guest guest
Thank you Pam. I have very little energy right now and aside from that I wouldn't complain too much. Regarding my condition, I have just this week got a physical exam and will have my blood test results back today. The main tests can be found here http:// thyroid.about.com/cs/newsinfo/l/bltest_values.htm These tests will explain better my condition and the information will be useful for treating my sickness. About your questions regarding Thyroid-Throu...No. I have not taken it. I'm waiting for further proofs that the herbal medicine is effective. It's interesting that Isay that since all of us including myself want to gravitate to anything that may provide a cure. However, I'm a cautious optimist. Green-Life does appear to be very knowledgeable about the thyroid functions, its importance and affects on the human body, and its various disorders, including hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. Much of its findings coincide with my own. For instance, Green-Life also acknowledges the danger of treating with RAI 131. It points out that many countries disagree and bans this procedure. It also points out the many side effects of different drugs. You may find their Q & A helpful as many patients write about their problems. One of the main reason I have not purchased Thyroid-Throu is its cost. It's fairly expensive for one treatment and each treatment is 6 boxes. And a standard cure would at least be 3 treatments. I'm researching to see if this costs less in Mainland China or elsewhere with the understanding that many Third-World patients could not afford this same price. My herbalist is very open to my research and he's helping me to find out more. I would be willing to pay the price if I knew that it is the cure. Based on its claim and show of knowledge, I feel that there's a very good chance that the product works. joey > Dear : > > Have you tried Thyroid--Throu? Does it work? Guest guest
Hi Pam, Thanks for your concern. The thought of hypo has crossed my mind. The test results I get back today will confirm that. It's interesting that you mention that. This thought may change what I eat. Yes. Kelp and seaweed do work. I was taking a kelp supplement for awhile then stopped due to contradictory information. The doctors with Thyroid-Throu say not to eat any seafood when taking the first 2 treatments of the medicine (which is 12 boxes.) Each Thyroid-Throu box costs USD $65. One treatment would requires 6 boxes. $65 x 6 = $390. They discount one box. So it would be $390 - $65 = $325. Then you must add shipping which is $45 for DHL or $30 for Airmail. I go to the Q & A and click on the " order now " button. They only have this online ordering in the last few weeks. This is one of the reason I'm somewhat skeptical of the company and product. I've been waiting to see if anyone have tried it and can testify the results. The Website again is http://www.greenlife-herbal.com/ENGLISH/ As I will get some more info in the next few days, I will let you know if I decide to place an order. I believe one order should be enought to determine its effectiveness. > Hi : > > Thank you very much for taking the time to email me in details. It looks > like you are hypo right now. Guest guest
Hi there, I'm the one who originally posted this article. I want to share my experience. My throid was very high. I've seen 3 western doctors and all of them told me my chance with Tapazole was very little. They were all recommending me to take the Radioactive Iodine. Only one of them was willing to let me try Tapazole for a while. At the beginning of Aug, I started taking Thyroid Throu from Green Life Herbal. I was basically desperate and would try anything, anything other than destroying my thyroid. After 3-4 days of taking Thyroid Throu, my symptom got worse. I couldn't sleep, I felt hot and my heart beat like crazy. I left a question in Green Life's website with my phone number. One lady called me, all the way from Hong Kong. She told me it's common to have my symptoms worsened. She said it's because Thyroid Throu would try to dump all the thyroid excess storage from the glands. She recommended that I took Thyroid Throu together with western medicine initially, to help control this effect. So I started taking the Tapazole. In a few days, I felt better. But my pulse was still around 80. I have now taken Thyroid Throu for over a month and Tapazole for over 3 weeks. I just had my 3 weeks check up. Blood result will be ready in 2-3 days. But my pulse was 72, I don't feel hot, and I sleep through the night. My doctor (who doesn't know I'm taking Thyroid Throu) said my gland felt much smaller. I'm not sure I can claim Thyroid Throu normalize my hyperthyroid. What I can say is that Thyroid Throu and Tapazole seemed to help me fight this. For all of you who have hyperthyroid out there, hang in there. Just believe that there is a solution to this.
Guest guest
Thank you Pam. And I hope you take care of yourself as well. Shinta, Thank you for sharing your experience. I really appreciate it. Your descriptions of Thyroid- Throu coincide with my experience of taking herbal medicine. Yes. The phrase " It gets worse better it gets better " is true in this case, although it's frightening to experience it. I do know for a fact that this is true. A metaphor I can think of is... when you dislocate your arm... and you go to the doctor to have it " pushed " back. It hurts like heck but doing so will make it better. I'm glad to hear that someone " all the way from Hong Kong " called. This at least is a good sign. Your experience sounds optimistic and I'm hopeful. joey > Hi there, > I'm the one who originally posted this article. I want to share my > experience. > > My throid was very high. Guest guest
Pam, I understand your concerns about herbs. However, the people that have problems are the ones who mistook herbs, just like those who took PhenPhen for weight loss. A good herbalist would never recommend herbs for weight loss. On the contrary, he/she would tell you to exercise regularly and diet properly. I'm sorry you've had bad experience with it. There are a lot of companies these days misusing herbs and falsely claiming their wonderful products (weight loss, energy pill, sex drives, etc) are the wonder drugs. It's too bad, because it's making a bad name for Chinese medicine. Taking herbs improperly is very dangerous. That's why I would never take herbs without the guidance of good herbalist. Taking herbs is not for everyone as it requires incredible patience, diligence, and self- confident. I have been all that but as you can tell, i'm growing weary but still optimistic. Take care. joey > Thank you for your detailed information. You must have felt horrible when > you felt worse a few days after taking thyroid-throu. Guest guest
I have gotten my blood results back and they are as follows: T-3 Uptake is 49.4% TSH is <0.01 L Thyroid Peroxidase AB is 5 IU/ML Free T3 is >11.0 NG/DL HDL Cholesterol is 39 L BP is 122/76 Pulse is 118 Based on these results, I have Grave's Disease. As of right now, I'm currently taking two herbs prescribed by my herbalist to correct the function of the spleen. In the past I have taken various formulas to treat the liver, spleen, heart, and kidney. I'm also taking some mineral supplements: kelp, calcium/magnesium, copper, and zinc. As well as a digestive enzyme capsule to help aid in absorption of these as well as food. Hyperthyroidism complicates the digestive system, thus we have a harder time consuming the necessary nutrients... which accounts for part of our rapid weight loss in addition to our superfast metabolism. Many of you may may experience an increase in phlegm production. This is due to the imbalance of the liver and spleen. The spleen plays an essential role involving the transportation and transformation of nutrients, control of blood flow and responsibility for anxiety. The spleen also is related to the muscles. These explains my lack of appetite (which is contrary to normal hyperthyroidism), nervousness, and constant fatigue. A comprehensive explaination of the spleen is at: http://www.edgenews.com/issues/2001/11/ren.html I will write more when I'm able to... joey

Guest guest
Hey, , My FT4 is 1.8 (normal is 0.8 - 1.8), TSH is < 0.01, my FT3 is 475 (normal is 230-420). I'm feeling much better. No more trouble sleeping at night. The only thing bad is I started feeling cold all the time, just like before I was diagnosed with hyper. I hope you're feeling better with the chinese herbs you're taking. -shinta > > Hi there, > > I'm the one who originally posted this article. Guest guest
, I think you mentioned you live near Santa . You might check out Dragon Herbs there. They know their stuff, and the quality is some of the best in the world. I haven't looked into it for this problem since I just found out about having gallstones a couple of weeks ago. Personally, I've already started on the e-book formulation, plus hydrangea root soaked in apple juice for 3 days, and break-stone tea (chanca piedra), and I want to see how that stuff works out in terms of reducing the size of the stone before adding more supplements. But I really believe in Dragon Herbs' products.
