Don't know if this helps in planning your event, but I think it sounds quite interetsting. I love the idea of hearing directly from other parents. Beth Afternoon everyone! I hope everyone had the best holidays! I wanted to send out a quick reminder to you that the deadline to register for the JA Winter Family Day is fast approaching. With the holidays and all, perhaps the registration form has been lost. I have attached a copy to this email if this is the problem. The brochure with the details is also attached. Our guest speakers during the Parent¢s session will be the parents of a child with JRA who are also from the Waukesha School District . The mother works as a special education teacher and also chairman of the AD and CD committees for Waukesha County . The father is a physical education teacher and part time pro golfer. They will speak about who to contact, what information to give, etc. when you child enters, changes or graduates to the next level of schools, plus how to deal with special considerations that need to be discussed with the school and its staff. They will also attempt to answer your questions and have their own experiences to draw from. While the same structure may not be in place at your school, the ideas presented may help you work with your school system. The second half of the Parent¢s session will be reserved as a time for the all the parent¢s to meet each other, and discuss common concerns, share ideas and make friends. So come and enjoy the water park in the morning and meet families in the water park. We will be given special colored bands for the water park to identify our group. Then enjoy the pizza buffet after which we will hold the Parent¢s session while the children are chaperoned by our family of volunteers. You may return to the water park after the Parent¢s session and enjoy it until 9:00 pm Saturday night. If you have any questions, please give me a call. If you have sent your registration form to me, it may have not reached my desk yet. But give me a call and I will check it out. M.
