I am in the early stages of planning JA Day, an educational and fun, day

long

event for kids and their families. I could use some help in this matter and

what I am asking is quite simple. I have a few questions for parents and a

few

for kids that I need answered and though this is a small feat for you it

will

help me tremendously.help me tremendously.<WBR>.....In advance, thanks to all

Noon til 5pm or 6pm would be good

2. What time frame would you prefer? morning, afternoon, evening

Afternoon

3. What topics would like to hear presented?

Health Insurance, Programs for JA Kid's, 504 and IEP, Medications, New

Treatments, What to expect in the future.

4. what kinds of speakers would you like to hear? Ped Rhuemy, Physical

Therapist, School Board, Health Insurance Rep, Pharmy Rep, A Adult who has Lived

with JA.

5. Would you prefer an icebreaker session for networking with other

families? Yes, As this has always been good.

6. Do you think children should have their own sessions? or should they have

fun time? With Kid's-----Fun time then a Talk time then fun time.

7. What venue do you think this event would thrive in?

we have discussed swimming, zoo, science center, any other ideas would

be greatly appreciated.be g

I would have to say since it will be a Educational Day somewhere that

would be able to group would be good as it can be close to a place for fun but

also be a place for Educational Issues. You can make a Family Day at a bigger

facility.

8.Any other ideas.......8.Any oth8.

KIDS

1. At JA Day would like to attend educational sessions?

2. If so what would you like to hear about?

3. Would you like to have funstuff available?

4. If so what would like to do?

5. Would you like to have a fun session where you meet and chat with other

kids?

6. What other things would you to do or have available?

I am not a Kid, I think though having a Fun time then a Talk time would be

good. Meet and Greet as a Ice breaker for the kid's. Some kid's may be to shy

to speak up so getting the fun in there and then seeing which are shy and

have a JA Volunteer to go talk with the child to get him or her to open up. You

could also have a Puppet show for the smaller kids and the shy kids. Puppets

talking about JA issues. OR having some of the JA kids Volunteer to talk

about How JA has affected them.
