Guest guest
Before your child was diagnosed, would they have flares and remissions of their symtoms while NOT on any meds? My daughter seems to have episodes where she does really well and just complains of mild pain or discomfort, then she has days where she seems really sick. She is currently not on any meds and we do not have a diagnosis yet. They originally thought she had septic arthritis but she did not respond to antibiotics and her symptoms would wax and wane, which is uncharacteristic of septic arthritis. Now, almost 2 1/2 months later, she still has mild swelling in her knee, low-grade fevers (99-100 F) but looks and acts pretty normal most days. Every 2-3 weeks however, she has episodes where she gets fevers (101-mid 103's F) and she appears very ill and complains of worsening joint pain. After a few days, she seems to get better and goes back to " normal " . I've read that polyarticular kids can have symptoms like this, but so far, the only joint with obvious inflammation is her right knee. During her " episodes " she seems to have pain in a lot of other joints but it goes away after she gets better. We are waiting to go see a new dr at Stanford at the moment, and hopefully, they can give us some more clues. Thanks for any help you can give.
