Lanie, Your post brought tears of joy out for your daughter and you! What a kind man to do this for your daughter. That would be a wonderful picture to send Georgina to see if she can post it here, too. Congratulations and enjoy your daughter enjoying her freedom ; ) ' & a 12 jia/uveitis/allergic asthmalanie2279 <lanie2279@...> wrote: Hello everyone,My daughter has been walking with a medical walker for a fewdays now. You have me in tears too! I know all too well what it's like to

carry a toddler all day when she is unable to walk. Isabelle had a

contracture for several months also (around age 2.5 when I was also

carrying a newborn!) and it's very hard on us moms to carry them, but

you raise such a good point. It's important that our little ones

feel like they CAN do it by themselves if they want to. What a

wonderful thing you have done for her! And oh, my that man was so

kind to give it to you. People's kindness can be so unexpected at

times.

Lanie, what a great story on several issues. First your beautiful baby can walk, and so what if it is with the aide of a walker. Thats so awesome and two, generosity in the world does exist and it is an absolute pleasantry when we see it. Thanks for the news!!!!!!

that's so lovely... thanks for sharing... it made my eyes well up :-)Clair From: lanie2279@...Date: Mon, 21 Apr 2008 12:23:34 +0000Subject: Hello every one...just wanted to share some good news :)

Hello everyone,

My daughter has been walking with a medical walker for a few

days now. She has poly JRA, and has had it most of her life. She has

cotractures in both knees, that have been hard to straighten. She got

her resting splints, and these have helped :). She is now 21 months,

and walking independently with her little walker :).

Her Physical Therapists, and Orthopedist were looking into getting her

one this week. I didn't want to wait.....I went to a Careway medical

store in Woburn, MA. (my home town), and inquired about a small walker

for a child. The man working was so sweet. He showed me a catalog to

look at, and ran up-stairs, He came down with the smallest little

walker I have ever seen. He told me to have it at no charge. He said

it was a discontinued model, and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! I gave him such a

big hug, and started balling my eyes out in joy. I can't wait to send

them flowers and a picture of her walking with it. If anyone has a

little child with these diseases, and is on the fence about getting

them a walker.....just do it! This is the best she has ever done. I

was so afraid she would never walk. She is so smart, and talks up a

storm :). She now tells me walk mama, walk ...lol. She is excited to

have the independence, and my back isn't wrenched from supporting her

weight and waist while trying to get her to walk like before. Thanks

for listening everyone :) SO HAPPY!!!

Love,
