Guest guest
Hi! I joined for my eleven year old, newly dx'd child... My 5 year old had had previous mention of concern over his joints (pain and swelling in knees, transient sinovitis (right hip especially). Ped. just said he'd monitor it for arthritis...(this occured before I brought in older son for his dx) At a recent developmental medical appt, the doctor said it was not consistent with 'chronic arthritis' but needed to be monitored. She did not know about older son at the time she thought this for younger one. Then at 5y checkup I pointed out a lump on the top of his foot, close to the ankle and he, while walking out, said it was a ganglion cyst and may never go away. then he disappeared. When I looked that up, it is joint related. recently ds started turning that foot in too. so, are ganglion cysts related to arthritis? is it another sign or just a coincidence? is it distinguishable from rheumatoid nodules? thanks. lucinda
