If the dog looks to be well cared for, it's likely you will find the

owner. This happened to us a couple times. The first time, we had the

dog for a week. My kids had already named him Bear when he was claimed. OH

MY LORD...it was awful. My was totally destroyed!!! Cried every

night for a week. The second time the dog was not cared for and I was ready

to freak on my kids because they fed this one and he wouldn't go away (I

found out they had fed him 2 pounds of imported boiled ham---no wonder he

wouldn't leave...LOL). However, he turned out to be vicious wiht the

neighborhood kids and after 3 weeks, Duff and I took him to the spca.

Hard. Then, we tried the puppy thing. Nother nightmare!!!!!!!! Kirby

lasted 6 weeks and Duff got accepted to Harvard and we had to move to Boston.

That was my excuse for getting rid of him. THEN, we came home and got

Ivan from my BIL. Should have known how that would ahve gone, what with

the name (Ivan the Terrible). Ivan was schizophrenic. Really. I'm not

kidding. The final straw wiht him was, one day, he got off his leash and

starting biting all of us in the ankle.....Duff had to punch him in the face

and drop kick him to the basement to get him off him...LOL. We promptly

called his brohter and said come get the dog...LOLOL FINALLY, we got it

right. Duff insisted that if we do the dog route again, we get a mutt.

He's convinced they're better tempered. *I* insisted it be an older dog (I

never minded getting up at 2 am to feed a baby, but NOT TO TAKE OUT A DOG)

So we got Muggsie, who is pitifully ugly, but the best dog on the planet and

puts up with more than his share with Maddie (she likes to bit his tail).

Loriann, I do hope that if this dog has an owner, they come soon, before your

kids get too attached.

Strange Prayer Request

For those who have known me for a while, you know we've debated over getting a

dog. Well, , and I were out in the front yard, I was cleaning out

the flower beds and the kids were climbing a tree. A stray came up, very

friendly, and played with the kids for a while. Extremely tolerant and

friendly. When we went through the garage to the back yard, she followed us.

We played for about 2 hours, and she never tried to leave. She really took up

with (which is hard to find, a dog that takes up to so well), but is

a little wary of .

Well, she's a bit bigger than DH likes, but he said we could keep her if we

tried to find the owners and couldn't. I do want to give an honest effort to

find her owners, but I'm praying it works out to where we can't find them. I

know if I lost a dog, I'd miss her, but it's so hard to find dogs that get along

with . And she's so well trained. She's a bit nervous in the house,

following us around every where, like she's been abandoned. She listens so

well, too.

She's black with a little bit of white on her paws. She looks like (or at

least from the AKC website) like a black border collie. She's very smart. At

one point, ran through the house and out into the front yard. Every

mother knows what terror that brings. I yelled at him (first and middle name)

and she took off after him and cut in front of him to slow him down. Sounds

like a keeper, huh?

And I know if we do end up keeping her, the first thing we need to do is take

her to the vet for shots and to see if she's been neutered. But we were just

talking again about getting a dog, and she shows up. I hope she's meant to stay

here. So, please pray that we don't find the owner? I know that sounds so bad,

but we want to keep her.

i think the animals understand the difference in our

kids. I will pray its in God's heart for you to have

this dog. Weve gotten two over the lsast few months

and WOW its been interesting,lol, nathan even learned

how to whistle, and loves to play fetch ove rand ove

rand over, lol fits his OCD behaviors,lol, and gets

him to talk more too, and he likes to brush them even

though they are short hair. Occasionally he does

mimick them pretending to scratch a flea, or ear, even

though we get frontline, soo they better NOT have any

fleas or ticks,lol, but we just remind him he is not a

dog. prayers, shawna.

Donna, so glad to hear that you are SAFE (I hope that you didn't have any

injuries!!) And that he is being held....how incredibly sad and disturbing. I

know you reached out to him in love and now this has happened....I will be

many details but I do need my cheerleading squad to send a few cheers. I have

fought many fights I had no control over and this new one is very different and

one I never seen coming my way. As many of you know we welcomed my now ex

husbands son into our home. I never seen the disaster growing into what it

has.....Long story short I am going to be going through a ather tough time in

the near future, dealing with courts, prosecutors, etc,etc. My ex step son has

recently been charged with attempted murder, is incarcerated? and I was the

strength for you on Friday and peace of mind. I can not relate to what you are

going through but pray that you will feel the presence of God with you
