Guest guest
maria and , I hope you don't mind a joint reply ) Me 1st:- I am on 300mg 3 times a day of neurontin, its helped the tingling in my arms and legs stop and my daily headaches have gone yippie!! But on friday at work, I do work days now, and love my job, I voluneered to help my old dept with moving a ton of card stock and I am paying the price this weekend. My shoulder, neck, arm and wrist are hurting like crazy and im going to have to take my 16 yr old grocery shopping as theres no way I can lift anything. I was already on anti-depressants and sleeping pills but im going to have to ask my doc for some stronger painkillers for days like this weekend. I still have not made my appts for PT and to see the chiriopractor. Nickynoodle is doing awesome, cant wait to go to camp MASH ( Make Arthritis Stop Hurting) in Aug, hes sleeping in each day, gets up when he likes and spends a bunch of time each day in the pool. my only concern is that his wounds just don't heal and hes got this tire burn ( from a friends bike) on his leg thats looking infected. Next Saturday is remicade day so I don't know if he can get remicade with an infected wound?? Might need a trip to see his ped this week. My 18 yr old graduated HS in June and is already at navy bootcamp. Im missing him like crazy, its been 3 weeks and I have had 1 letter. They are really strict with these kids and none of the moms are getting any contact. A few have received phone calls this weekend and im hoping to get one too. It's killing me not knowing whats going on. My daughter was dx with allergies, so shes now on eye drops and meds. My 16 yr old is on meds for acne, my 13 yr is on meds for ADHD and hubby is on meds for his heart. The only one not on meds is the one in the navy!! Im opening a drug store in my kitchen!!!!! maria, what great news about a possible medicated remission. Nicks doctor marked Nick as " well controlled " on his medcial forms for camp, that made my heart sing. Not that he still doesnt have his moments if he does too much one day, he still pays the price the next day. But well controlled, Ill take it!!! ... im still thinking that Aundrea has fibro AND JRA??? hugs to all Helen and (10,systemic)
Guest guest
Helen, I think you are absolutely right about Drea. I believe she has fibro which would explain the muscle weakness and pain along with the tender points and sleep issues. I believe that she has jra in a more mild form with less swelling typically than others. She has to much joint pain and skin issues that don't seem to be explained with just a fibro diagnosis. I think this latest flare up in her toes/feet is jra retlated. Makes a lot more sense that a 12 year old with gout. So glad to hear that Nicky Noodle is having an great summer. I hope he has an awesome time at camp. Probably a good idea to at least check with the doc about that tire burn before the remicade injection. It's wonderful that you are now on days. I don't know how you could survive fibro and still work nights. I suppose you are going to learn more about pacing yourself too. We always preach it to our kids but it must be a whole lot harder to do that when your the mom. How about things with your hubby's job and medical insurance. Last time I heard you were paying horrible fees with cobra. Has that improved. I hope so considering all the medications that you have to purchase. I know your heart must be so lonely for your son that has gone off to bootcamp. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to have that goodbye. I have a good friend who has gone through the same thing. She just made it through the first year. She said the first 6 weeks truly was the most difficult due to the limited contact. Hopefully, it will begin to get easier for you. did you get your call from him this weekend?
