Weird Hand Swelling Question

Hi There!

I'm an infrequent poster...but avid reader, so hello to everyone!

My 8yr old has well controlled Poly JRA and just this summer she has

had 2 weird swelling episodes. Her hand, not her fingers not her

wrist, swell. It's her complete palm area. Swelling comes on

suddenly, lasts for about 24hrs and dissipates over the next 48hrs or

so. This isn't so weird for her, if she were to have a flare, that's

her normal time frame and style.

I'm just thinking the location is odd. We've never seen swelling in

her her palm. We had pictures to her rheumy, who agreeed odd...but also

said there is much 'going on' in the hand area, no other comment. Also

in any literature, I don't ever recall reading about hand swelling.

So...just curious, has anyone seen anything similar?
