Her email is:  hanban@...   I can have her email Drea in the next

couple of days.  She's had a rebound headache all weekend and stayed off the

computer.  We follow with the ped today.

Sending prayers & happy thoughts,

Beth :)

Hi, Beth. I know I'm a bit late here, but just wanted to jump in with a

thought. I am not sure which meds Hannah is on for her arthritis but

when my dh started taking Ultram for his pain, it worked great, but then

it began to cause migraines. My dh has suffered from migraines for years

(except when he was on the anti depressants). Perhaps the headache is a

side effect of some medication she is on? Just a thought, Michele

Subject: OT: MIGRAINES

Hey guys:

I really need some help here. I spent 4 1/2 hours with Hannah in the ER

yesterday. She started with a migraine on Thursday night, so I gave her

an Imitrex. She woke up yesterday and it was worse so she took another

Imitrex. Two hours later she called me at work and it was getting. So

I went over and talked with my pharmacist friend (she's in the same

building I work in) and she said it would be ok to try one more. That

was 9:30. At 10:00 Hannah called and said she was really nauseous and

her head was getting worse. The pediatrician covering for our reg ped

sent us to the Children's ER. They gave her IV fluids and compazine.

After her fluids were done, she was feeling better and were allowed to

go home. We got home at 3:00 and by 7:00 her headache was starting

again. She fell asleep around 9:00. This morning she woke up nauseated

and with a migraine. She took 2 Imitrex, which helped the migraine, but

not

the nausea. The pediatrician that was working this morning was kind

enough to call in some compazine for her, which I gave her around 11:00.

It is now 1:15 and she says her stomach hurts again. The dose is for

every 8 hours. If her migraine recurs, we have to go back to the ER

because she can't have another Imitrex today.

So does anyone have any further suggestions, or what meds work for them

or their kids? She has only been on the Amitriptylene for a week and

they told it it would take 4-6 weeks before we see any difference (it

was prescribed for her abdominal pain, but was told it could help

prevent her migraines too). It is breaking my heart to see Hannah like

this. I would gladly take a joint flare over this any day. We are

scheduled to follow with our regular ped on Monday and I won't be

surprised if we have to go to yet another specialist (the ped on call

suggested a neurology consult).

Beth & a very miserable Hannah

Sending prayers & happy thoughts,

Beth :)

-Hi Beth,

Glad to hear that she was headache free today. what a relief for

her.

Aundrea didn't have nausea until this evening so that was an

improvement for her.

she did have this strange thing happen at the grocercy store today.

One of the bones on her upper chest..what is that bone..Im thinking

clavical but probably wrong..anyway something is sticking out or felt

like it popped out. She this giant knot very tender to touch and

quite red. Who knows what that is all about. She said it's causing

her pain in her neck and shoulders and hurts when she breathes.

Hopefully she will fall asleep and wake up feeling better.

The ped didn't get back to me today so I will have to follow up with

her regarding the GI referral.
