Guest guest
Well we have?made our third trip in three months to Childrens Mercy South in Kansas City. Fortunately those 370 miles seem to go pretty quick while Jaye is not in pain. She is doing ok but not really good. When we saw the Rheumy three months ago he said that he was willing to leave her on the same arthritis medications even though she still had problems. Specifically she asked to be left on it as was and did not want to change. He did add something for the tummy issues but left her Naproxin and plaqunil alone. Two months ago we change the tummy med to Previcid and that helped some but not enough. So today he has changed her from Naproxin to Mobic left the plaquinil and doubled the Prevacid dose. He also gave us a script to go and have some shoe inserts made for her feet. He warned that they are not cheap and that some insurance companies do not pay real well for them so we will see how that goes. We go back in two months. If it were not for the price of gasoline and the fact that I am out of sick days at work to take her I really would not mind the trips. Today the weather was beautiful here and?we had a great visit going up and back. No radio and just us two talking to each other it was really fun.? It was kind of funny listening to Jaye talk to the rheumy about her feet. He seems to think that the pain she is having has nothing to do with arthur but due to her feet being so flat. While he was looking at her feet she asked him if they were pretty flat or just kind of and he said they are pretty flat, she said really really flat or just sort of pretty flat. He bent back over to look at them for her and said yep they are really really flat. She just said Hummmm, so how do we fix them. Just 14 and she seems so ready to take on the responsibility of her medical care. I know that some parents have problems with the kids taking their meds but is so good, but then she can feel the difference when she goes more then two days without and she is tired of not being able to participate. I just pray she can remember this all once she really feels good and will not have problems then.? Anyway, my rheumy appt is not until October 15th and I am really struggling with the pain but only in my wrists, hands, fingers and thumbs. My knees bother me but not painful most of the time. GRRRR this weather has not helped me at all. Veri & Jaye?14 poly
