Guest guest
Jaye's visit went well today. She has been doing so good for the past several weeks and it is exciting to see her feeling good. Today during her visit she had the rheumy laughing and joking which is something she has not done before. He could tell that she was doing well. The mobic was a good change for her. She has been on it now for 8 weeks I think and so it took a bit to kick in but is doing better then naproxin ever did.? I am not as impressed with the mobic for me but it sure is helping her. Today, basically her only complaint is that since she started the mobic she has had more gas then normal. When she told the rheumy that he asked her what kind of gas thinking it was more indigestion since she has really struggled with that. She said " nope it's Tootin kind and I'm a freshman in a new school and that is not cool. " ? He laughed with her and from that point on the entire visit was wonderful. We were all laughing. He did not tell her that she can not wear her favorite shoes but just suggested that when she has alot of walking or other activities to do that might cause a problem that she should consider wearing her better shoes with the orthotics in them. She knew that was the case and I think it just made her feel good that he did not gripe at her about the shoes she wore there today. We go back to see him in 2 to 3 months when we can coordinate it with her Opthamolgist appointment. It is so nice to have a doctor that will visit with her and joke with her.? Our trip to the appointment was an interesting one. We generally go to the Children's Mercy South but today had to go to their downtown location and took a wrong turn. We really ended up in a not so nice area of town and Jaye and I both were a bit concerned when a guy got out of the car in front of us at a stoplight and looked at us. We thought he was going to come back and talk to us or worse. But then he looked around and got back in his car and drove on. We had our eyes opened to some homeless people, and probably some drug dealers. I will never go down that road again. There were people sitting on the corners drinking and it was not pop or water. We are from a small Mennonite community and so that is not what we have ever seen before. As the guy got out of his car I was talking on my cell phone to the clinic to get better directions?and praying to God to protect us. I do not know if me on my cell was what kept him from coming back or what but ..... I do not want to think about it much.?
