Guest guest
: My neighbor has a teaching degree and wanted to stay home with her kids. She tutors kids in her home after school every day from 3-5. She charges $25 hour and her schedule is full. She tutors my son and does a wonderful job. Just a thought. Hi all, I haven't posted on here for a while but I thought I would give this a shot.? I have a teaching degree and a background in special education (early childhood but I have worked with all age groups birth through 21.)? I have never had trouble finding work and I am in a wonderful job that I love right now,? but I am in a position now where we cannot afford the afterschool care for our 4 kids.? 3 of our 4 kids have special needs of different sorts, and because I often have to take off work to take them to Dr. and specialist appts., I feel like I should be the one to have either a more flexible job or a nighttime job.? My husband is an electrician but cannot find anything at night or with part time hours from about 6 or 7 am until 2 (my kids get out of school at 2:10 so it's a very strange schedule.)?? does ANYONE know of places that either my husband or I might look for a decent paying job either during the hours of 5, 6, or 7 am until 2 pm, or a night job?? It's hard with a teaching degree - most people aren't needing teachers at night!? Thanks so much!
Guest guest
Have you thought about tutoring? We have a family friend who would tutor after school at her home. I had her work with my youngest. I am not sure of what a good rate would be for an hour nowadays, but I have seen some listings on Craig's list from people looking for tutors. Also, what about some sort of child care for swing shift workers? I saw an ad in our local community college's catalog, looking for part time instructors. Surely those types of courses could be at night. As for your hubby, I know lots of guys in the trades who do side work around here, but I am not sure if your hubby is union and if they frown on that. Some guys have to work around the union stuff, I know. Hope this helps, good luck! Michele ( 21, spondy) ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of redfeather03@... Guest guest
, If you didn't want to tutor in your home there are a lot of learning centers to help children who aren't achieving academically - I have heard a lot of ads around, like the Huntingtown Center locally. And the Sylvan Learning Center. Also - some business type schools and schools that provide adult education certificate training hire teachers - since they have a set curiculum to follow they may just look for dynamic teachers with experience.? Good Luck! Val Original Message----- From: redfeather03@... p2p-co ; ; fgsyndrome Sent: Thu, 11 Dec 2008 4:03 pm Subject: OT -any job thoughts for a teacher??? Guest guest
I know that many homeschool parents would love to have a teacher teach " speciality " classes in coop situations. Also, What about night class at community college? Audra > > Hi all, > I haven't posted on here for a while but I thought I would give this a shot.?
