Guest guest
I had braces for 7.5 years which was awful by the way. But as I got more used to it I was able to eat with the pain. One thing to be aware of is the braces rubbing on the inside of the cheeks causing sores. For those of us with bad immune systems it can be worse. I found hot drinks helped a lot, ice packs too, I couldn't do the teething ring thing but boo packs the small gel ice packs were nice. Shakes with protein powder was what my mom Did for me to keep my weight up. Other than that soup and mashed potatoes are pretty helpful. Its all worth it in the end I have a great smile but its not so fun while its going on. With love, mctd 23 soon to be 24 in 13 days! Guest guest
One idea may be to use baby ora-jel to help " deaden " the pain in the gums. It works for teething, it may help other pain. Guest guest
as a former brace wearer I empathize. All the recommendations I have to say are good. I used alot of wax and orajel. It does get better so hang in there. Donna
