Jo, I was just checking the news and seeing all the flooding in Australia. I

hope you are all safe. I can't believe how fast that water is rising! Sending

lots of prayers and good thoughts to you, Michele ( 23, spondy)

G'day Michele,

We're good, thanks. We had our shocking floods in June of '07 (my car

left its contribution of a fan belt floating out to sea somewhere).

We're in NSW, smack bang in the middle of Queensland and , which

are both flooding. We, in the meantime, have a bit of a mosquito and

spider epidemic, but at least the snakes aren't knocking at the door

trying to escape the water... Good ol' Australia!

" I love a sunburnt country,

A land of sweeping plains,

Of ragged mountain ranges,

Of droughts and flooding rains.

I love her far horizons,

I love her jewel-sea,

Her beauty and her terror -

The wide brown land for me! "

So glad you're all doing well. I have a friend who lives in Townsville who I met

at the JRA conference in '09. Her sons and husband had to abandon their car and

fly out of Brisbane this past week. They're alright and so is their vehicle. She

did say there was a lot of rain in her area but no real flooding. I was sad to

hear about all the devastation and the loss of life. I hope they can recover

quickly. Take care to you and your fellow countrymen.

(mom to , 16, with polyarticular JRA)
