Guest guest
Well, the week has been kind of a rough one here at the Seifert household! It started off with my youngest having to go to the doctor for fevers that he has been having for a week straight! The doctor couldn't find anything wrong with him so if he had continued to have fevers by today, I would have had to take him in to get some blood work done but thank goodness, the fevers have stopped! Wednesday, Bradley went swimming with a girlfriend of mine (I am on crutches due to some pulled tendons in my right foot, but that is another story entirely!) and he went under for about 5 or 6 seconds off the bottom step, she grabbed him and he came up coughing and vomited and decided he had enough and wanted to come home. Well, when he got home, he was disoriented and said he wanted to take a nap! For Bradley, for him to want to lay down is a BIG indicator that something is wrong, he just doesn't like to lay down for the life of him. He slept for about 2 hours, woke up, didn't want to eat at all but wanted to lay down again! He was also running a fever again, he's been running fevers for a week now, not high ones but fevers none the less so his Rheumy gave us a Rx for Zithromax. So anyways, later on that night my hubby came home and noticed that Bradley was really lethargic and warm so he decided that we should go to the ER since he could have aspirated some water. Long story short, they did a chest xray, everything was fine but they did some blood work and showed that his WBC count was really high so obviously he has an infection somewhere. They gave him some Abx in his IV and after that, we were able to go home...6 hours after we checked in!!! It was so ridiculous how long we were there but at least we know that he is ok for the most part, minus the infection. So that was our night/day for wednesday and thursday. We also went to the Rheumy on Tuesday and his joints look good but we will be starting Humira next week to try to help his Uveitis since the drops and MTX alone aren't doing enough. We also have to go back next week to the Rheumy to see an Orthotist to see about getting Bradley some extra support in his shoes. I am nervous about starting the Humira but I know he needs it for his eyes so that right there is enough reason for me. The nurse gave us a program where Humira will actually pay for his Rx for the first 6 months so that is SO nice since our medical bills for him are adding up. Hope you all have a fantastic day and weekend and know that you have lots of prayers coming at you from Sunny Southern California!
