Guest guest
My son was diagnosed with systemic onset JRA a little over six years ago. Val, Long time good friend, Robbie was diagnosed the spring of 2001,that makes it a little over 7yrs. ago. will have been on Enbrel 6yrs next month.I can't blame you one bit for wanting to forget that first yr though. The boys did have a very rough go of it and it's amazing how far they both have come. I hate updating about because I feel guilty, mostly his growth compared to Robbie but you have to keep remembering what a miricle baby he was and still is.Preemies weighing around 2 lbs usualy have poor outcomes with many disabilities and never catch up in growth,if they even survive.I know the 7+ yrs of steroids sure haven't helped but in many ways you are so fortunate. You have an amazing son.He is great in school, baseball, boyscouts and personality and was voted most likely to become president some day. doesn't take anything serious. He has the attention span of a rock, everything is one big who cares,he is an over sensative weanie and definately not the brightest bulb in the pack. All the blonde jokes apply to Dave.He has his size and he's handsome. We just hope he gets into some tech school someday, where Robbie will probably get a scholorship to some Ivy league school.I'd rather be half the size instead of half the brain.Don't get me wrong he is not stupid,he's just not book smart. If only there was a school that taught to his way of thinking. You know how we talk about a morning where I had my Dr.Pepper and you had your cup of coffee? We HAVE done that, the morning at AJAO in SanDiego when we had breakfast together. I wont ramble on like I used to.I just wanted to say you were my first online BFF and always will be.I have so many great memories of a not so great situation. I miss you, love you and hope to have another Dr.Pepper and coffe in the morning again. Becki and 10 systemic
