Guest guest
Amy, How about you schedule an appt with the pediatrician or the ped bone specialist first and then just as courtesy call the rheumy and share your concerns with them and that you are getting this checked out since you think it is a bone spur. This give the rheumy a chance to think about it and if she has concerns to call you back. And while the rheumy is thinking on it you are acting on it and that will give you some peace of mind. When Jaye has issues I almost always contact her pediatrician as well as the rheumy and neurologist so that they have it all documented. Sometimes I do not make a call to the neurologist office depending on what it is but even he seems to appreciate my updates and sometimes will call to check on her even if I have told his office that this is just an fyi thing for them. We all have more then one doctor for our kids and although I will not take Jaye to the rheumy because she has a seizure I will tell the rheumy that it has happened. Veri & Jaye 17 poly bone spur? Lucy is supposed to be officially in remission. She had an MRI on her right wrist and there was no synovitis. Both wrists were hurting but we MRI'd the right because that was where the jra started. Lucy had been having a lot of wrist pain but no swelling or stiffness so the rheumy wanted the MRI to make sure it wasn't jra. Anyway, we're sitting here watching a movie and she shows me a bony bump on the back of her wrist. It doesn't move so I'm thinking it's a bone spur. I've googled a little and it says that most bone spurs are caused by osteoarthritis. Could it be from jra? I dread going back to the rheumy because I've nagged her so much about Lucy's pain and always she tells me that it's not active arthritis.I'm wondering if I should go back to the pediatric hand specialist that first suspected jra 2 1/2 years ago. Amy and Lucy ???
Guest guest
The pediatrician had a walk in clinic today so I brought Lucy in to have them look at the bony bump on her wrist. I swear the doc working there was on his first day out of medical school. He said it was a calcification and that I should have it looked at. What??? I thought I was having it looked at! Anyway, he thought that I should call the rheumy, but I am going to try to get her in with an orthopedic doc on Monday since I am not at all sure that this has anything to do with jra.
