Guest guest
I understand why you need to post the information regarding the ASLAT testing. I guess this can stir up some controversy. But I am also all for finding " what works " . In our case we had 4 months to wait to even get into see a rheumatologist for a diagnosis and so we took her to a naturopathic doctor (and her regular pediatrician in the meantime). Quite suprisingly, the homeopathic remedies that were prescribed made her able to jump right out of bed the next morning when she had been unable to walk in the morning for two months prior! But I admit our glee was short-lived and within another week her swelling returned. By the time we finally saw the rheumy, she needed 3 doses of Ibuprofen each day. We have also done extensive food allergy testing (blood serum--IGe by pediatrician and stool sample through our Pediatric GI specialist) to at least rule out food allergies/Celiac. Isabelle, although not Celiac, does have gluten sensitivity and although milk didn't show up in results we are certain through food diary analysis that she had less flaring when not drinking it (although she hasn't had a flare now since July of '07). Isabelle has been on MTX since April of 2007 and is now in a " medicated remission " . We still watch her intake of sugar, wheat, and milk. I wish that the mainstream medical views would be more supportive when you are a parent that uses complimentary care along with traditional care. Our ped rheumy just tells me, " it can't hurt " which is a baby step in the right direction . -Hadley (Isabelle, 4.5 yrs.) > > Hello Georgina, > > First of all I want to thank for providing so much information on the > ALCAT test.
