Guest guest
I was excited to go this week to our app for a bone density test and to see the rheumatologist to see if hte mtx injection was helping enough that we did not have to switch to a biologic .... it was postoned til next week now ... and I had thought my daughter was seeing improvements but the kast few days she has had swollen joints and complained of pain , I was soo upset thinking I was seeing an improvement. It is sooo hard to see your child go through all of the ups and downs of Arthritis .... I am keeping positive but it really does suck that with all the meds she is on and has been on in a yr and a half to see struggle .... , and Sophie(6yrs with JIA and IGA Deficiency)
Guest guest
, So sorry your daughter is struggling and that your appointment got moved back. As hard as it is to think about putting our kids on the next level of medication...it is often needed to stop the progression of this disease and stop further joint damage. My son did not respond to the MTX alone...so a year and a half ago we added Enbrel. As hard as it was (and continues to be) for me to inject my 7 year old with such powerful medication...I know it's the right thing to do. My son is doing so well and he has not shown signs of active disease since November 2009. I know it's so hard to see our little ones in pain...hang in there and update us after her appontment. & , 7, poly....nystagmus...SPD....
