Guest guest
Hi all, 's arthritis has been under great control since starting Kineret. She's off the pred, and we are weaning Methotrexate, but it's been 4 weeks since we last reduced. She's also on Mobic. This week she's been in CSAP testing - the Colorado standardized tests. We do have a 504 for her where she could have been with the group of kids who needed extra time, but we declined that accommodation because she's been doing really, really well and it didn't seem she needed it. (Each year we have the option of choosing which she needs). Anyway, it's only been one hour per day of writing, which doesn't seem more intense than an average day for her. However, this evening (after 2 days of testing) her hands are swollen and her knuckles are red. They don't feel warm. Her wrists hurt a bit too. It doesn't seem like a huge deal, but as usual, is disappointing. The Kineret seems to be holding the systemic symptoms, and I thought, the arthritis too. She's also been digging around in the sand a lot at recess. Or, maybe it's just our dry climate. Anybody have any thoughts? Even in high flare time (at onset, and before starting Kineret) her knuckles have never been red. So, here I am thinking - what the heck is THIS? nn (, 9, systemic)
