I agree. I'll just add that it doesn't matter if it's your JA child or

another of your children~~ A mother will always worry. It's in the job

description! J

e, I hope that " Joe " is feeling better today.

Hugs, e. It is so true - no matter their age, you worry. It is the

motherhood curse I guess. I hope that joe recovers quickly with no major issues.

daughter has a fever. She was at 103.9 when he called, all worried of course. I

had him give her Tylenol, put her in a lukewarm tub, force some fluids, etc. And

gave him specific instructions if she starts hallucinating, having a seizure,

confusion, etc to immediately take her to the ER. (911 is not an option where

they live--they are in the middle of nowhere). She has a cough, etc. I told him

to call me in 30-45 minutes with an update and her temp has decreased to about

99.9 and she is resting now.

Just goes to show no matter the age of the child with JRA--they are still

that--your child--and we still worry.

So true Liz, and thanks for the good wishes and . She is still

spiking temps

up to about 104. She said Strep is going around the school (teaches first grade)

but I'm

also thinking pneumonia. It is -1 F where she is and doesn't want to make the

30+ minute drive into clinic--I don't blame her there. So she is drinking lots,

resting, etc. and hoping to

be doing better but I bet she is going to need to go out in the cold and into

clinic tomorrow.

This is another one of those days when I wish I wasn't so far away from her.

Even if it is strep, she needs to go in for the antibiotics. Yes, I know how it

goes with a sick, adult child. At least we are only an hour away by plane from

n. Straight shot. Portland to San . But many nights I sleep with the

phone next to my ear when she isn't feeling well. Hang in there.

She did finally go to clinic and they said it was just the crud. Her fever was

up and down but has finally broke. She may try to go to work tomorrow. Thanks

for asking. She had just commented over the weekend that she hadn't needed a

sick day all school year and then wham she got hit big.

Okay, that was my daughter's hubby told me. But he was wrong! She has

bronchitis/possible pneumonia. They gave her a Z-pak and cough syrup. If she

stands up for more than a couple minutes she about passes out from the

dizziness. She sounds like heck too--cough, hoarseness, etc and is not even

close to being back at work teaching first grade! And she is really tired of

laying around the house. She feels really bad to be having a different sub each

day but what can you do?

e,

I hope that she’s feeling better and back on her feet soon. And I feel for

you~~ it’s hard to be so far away from our kids, even when they are grown,

when they aren’t well.

Poor joe! I hope the meds do the trick and she can get back on her feet quick.

She does need to rest and not push too soon (which of course you know, I’m

just giving you virtual mother support LOL!). Keeping her in my thoughts and

prayers, Michele ( 23, spondy)
