Guest guest
Happy Birthday ! Hope the trip goes well and the dr can give your daughter some relief. It does seem like adding to the mtx might be what your daughter needs. Although the meds are scary, they do seem to help many. Perhaps remission will be in the near future? Enjoy the pool and the time with your daughter as much as you can, Michele ( 23, spondy) From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of watt_melanie Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2011 8:06 AM Subject: our appointment with the rheum Today we are leaving for a 4 and a half our trip to see our rheum for the 12th time in just over a yr and a half, my daughter is on naprosyn, methotrexate injections and prednisone ... Guest guest
First off, Happy Birthday, ! I am sorry that you have to spend your birthday on the road and visiting a doctor, but I hope that you are able to take some down time to enjoy the day with your family. I'm still very new to the JRA world, but I hope that the rheum is able to get your daughter some relief. And I know how scary the meds are (I was a wreck when starting the methotrexate with ) but I also believe that if a trusted ped. rheum feels it's the right choice, it is worth trying it. Good luck and please keep us posted. Guest guest
Happy (belated) Birthday . Hoping your appointment goes well and you find the proper drug combo to help your daughter. As I have posted many times...Enbrel has been our 'miracle' drug. responded almost immediately after the first injection...he's come so far in the two years since being diagnosed. He started Enbrel in July 09 and by his November 09 appointment was showing no signs of active disease. All the best, & , 7, poly...nystagmus...SPD... Guest guest
, I pray that the trip and appointment went well. I have for years also been trying to make the trips fun. We only drive 3 hours up to see our rheumy and that is far enough. But for this rheumy I would go further. Let us know what the rheumy said. Guest guest
Thanks for the birthday wishes.... well we are back from our long trip to see our rhumatologist.... my daughter is not any better since last time we saw her in jan , and since starting the mtx injections. She did have a throat infection in jan that she was put on 28 days of antibiotics for , they re tested to see if it helped ..will take a week or so to get the results back, if it is still positive for the infection she will have to go on more antibiotics, which they say this kinda of infection can keep the arthritis medications from helping so that maybe why she is not seeing any relief. So its another wait and see game. if the infection is gone they will have to decide to up her medication to enbrel at that time. ( Sophie, 6 yrs, JIA) > > Happy (belated) Birthday .
