Guest guest
So happy she had a good time and felt great!!! I will watch for pictures on FB Beth " We cannot control the wind, but we can adjust our sails " From: " veristroud@... " <veristroud@...> Sent: Sunday, April 17, 2011 5:53 PM Subject: Re: Jaye Update & Prom  Well, Jaye had an awesome time at prom last night. She called and wanted to stay out all night and of course I said NO. But I did give her til 2 a.m. to go with friends back into Wichita to IHOP. I know that I am a bit over protective and all. She went into Wichita only 30 miles down the interstate for dinner at the Olive Garden before prom with one girl I knew a little bit about and two girls and a guy that I had never met before. Needless to say i was worried. The girl driving and the one guy in the group made me a bit nervous for some reason, I was not sure why. The worst part was that Jaye left without her cell phone, so if she needed somethign she had to depend on someone else to use their phone. They made it back to town for prom and I was a bit relieved. Shortly after prom started I got a text from a different friend of hers phone and Jaye said that she had changed groups to hang out with and wanted to go to IHOP with them. She said she felt safer with the second group. I think I felt quite a bit of relief because the girl driving after prom we have known since grade school. I told her she could not go to IHOP unless she came to pick up her cell phone which she did. She woke me up at 2 a.m. when she came in the house and we talked for probably about 30 minutes. She had a wonderful time. She was so beautiful. She had no aches or pains and she felt beautiful. My heart swells as I think about it, I nearly choke up as I think back just a few months ago before Enbrel and she would have been totally out of it the day after. Also, a few months back she would have gone to prom in pain. This was wonderful. Today, she did not get up for Sunday School but she did go to worship service with us. Four of my five children and four of my grandchildren were at church with us this morning as well. We celebrated Easter a week early with a cookout and Easter Egg hunt and had a great time. Jaye is napping now but I would if I could too. Next weekend we are headed back to Kansas City to see the rheumy and the opthamologist for her check up. We will have my grandson with us and we are going to go up on Saturday and search for a mall that has an Easter Bunny hopping around. Then on either Saturday night or Sunday morning we will let Gabe go back to his mom's. I am confident that the rheumy will be very pleased with Jaye's progress. At our last visit she had only minor swelling in one ankle and knee I think. I am not ready to wein med's yet it has only been four months of doing this good and I am not ready to rock the boat. But I trust our rheumy and will go with his wishes. Jaye has been having alot of headaches and we are not sure what it is caused from. We are hoping that it is not seizure related but have ruled out nearly every thing else. Could be just that she is exhausted, or if she is over tired she could be having break through seizures. GRRRR, one thing settles and another rears its head. But today after a long night she did not have a headache so maybe it is over adn we will not have to worry about it any more. Only 5 1/2 weeks of school left for us here and then she can sleep later to eliminate the tired. She has not adjusted since the time change last month. Guest guest
Oh Beth I am not sure I will get to post pictures on Facebook. She has not given me permission to do that. I got into trouble for posting the ones of her that I did when she just tried on the dress. I got a lecture from her about safety and she does not feel that it is appropriate to post pictures of children on facebook. She does not even have a facebook page of her own and has determined that I should not post her picture there unless I ask her permission. She was not demanding but she said that she felt that she should have a say in whether or not her photos are posted or not. She is certainly growing up. She gave me some things to think about in our discusssion. I think she will let me post a picture on this site but not sure. Jaye is a fairly private person and so I have to honor her wishes at this point. But I did tell her that the photo would be e-mailed to a couple of aunts and uncles in other states and to one Uncle in Japan that want to see her. There has been so much of her life that she had no control over, specifically her health that I can not take this away from her. I hope she does not tell me that I can not chat with you all about her. Veri & Jaye 17 poly Re: Jaye Update & Prom Well, Jaye had an awesome time at prom last night. Guest guest
Thanks . After talking to Jaye I am certain now of why I did not feel comfortable with the first group of kids she was with last night. When let me know she had changed groups and the reason was that she felt safer with the second group of kids I thought, well I have taught her something. She said she did not feel right with that group once they got headed to wichita and then was told later that the guy they were with is a " pot head " . Jaye has a zero tolerance for the druggie group of kids. I have told her so many times that any time she feels like she is not safe or even uncomfortable to " get out " . To call me or a friend to help her and to let me know where she is. She did the right thing last night. She has shown so much maturity in the last 48 hours I am not sure if I can handle much more. Guest guest
, I actually have six grandchildren. My oldest grandson will be 13 on Friday, he tried to convince us today was his birthday but we told him that we are smarter then we look. The next one is 11, then 6, 3, 2 & 8 months. The youngest was not here because I will not get to see him for at least 18 years since he was given up for adoption, but in my heart I have to still count him. The other five were here all afternoon and we had a wonderful time. The six year old is a girl and the others are all boys. Some people will tell me that I actually only have one grandchild because the others belong to my two step daughters that I am actually not even related to anymore since I divorced their dad. But, i was their mom for 18 years and I will always be their Grammy. Maybe not legally but the heart matters more then law when it comes to family feelings. Veri Re: Jaye Update & Prom Veri, You are a good mother and your daughter is a fine, young woman. And I can't believe you have 4 grandchildren. I am going to be dang old before I get to be one. Guest guest
Well not to brag, but I think I am a pretty good Grammy. I love to spoil them and wish I had more time to spend with them. My kids have never been able to spend much time with their grandparents. My parents lived in Wyoming so a 12 hour drive until 2002 when they moved to Paraguay which is about a 24 hour flight, and mucho mucho bucks trip away. Their fathers mom lives here in the same town and they see her at least two maybe three times a year, so I want to be a grandma to my grandbabies like I had when I was growing up. I got to spend whole summers with my grandparents and was probably considered slave labor in their garden all summer and loved every minute of it. My kids are closer to my parents who are so far away then they are to the grandma that lives here, sad so very sad. My parents will move back to the states in September of 2012 and we are hopign they will live within three or four hours from here if not less. My kids will be adults but they will still be a part of their lives. Veri Re: Jaye Update & Prom > > Veri, > You are a good mother and your daughter is a fine, young woman. Guest guest
You have done a great job raising your daughter and should be VERY proud. 's 15 yr old sister Shelby is like that.I am very proud of her as well. She has a very strong belief about people that use drugs that I will not mention here.AJ has a great head on her sholders and I know you are so proud of her but you know it comes from the breeding and the motherly love and guidance. I want some pictures of your beauty queen. Becki and ________________________________ From: " veristroud@... > > Veri & Jaye 17 poly & Post Prom Exhaustion > > > >
