Hi Barb, I had to self inject Lovenox. It was no big deal, and hardly hurt at

all. I was happier with that than taking cummidin. Don't fret about it. It

was really easy.

All the best, Joan

Did any of you use Lovenox or Enoxaparin injections after

your surgery that you have to give yourself? I have to do

this for three weeks. BARB

Hi Barb,

I used Lovenox and it was really no problem at all. Just a small needle injected

somewhere there's a little extra " cushioning " .

I had to stop all aspirin and anti inflammatory 2 weeks prior to surgery.

Had anti coags while in hospital then nothing when I got home..

I am already on aspirin therapy......BARB

Re: injections

I used arixtra with no problems. It was not a big deal. What is ironic

though is after my revision surgery which was much more complicated I was

given aspirin by the revision surgeon...that is all.

When I asked why he said there is no proof that any of the injections do any

more good than aspirin.I dunno...just passing the info along.

I forgot to mention on my other post that Jaye decided this weekend that

she was going to give herself her methotrexate injection. I have been doing it

every week since we started and she was not at all interested in doing it. I

had offered a few times, we had discussed her options and she had said no. When

I was out of town on a Friday we either moved it to Saturday or had a friend of

mine that is a RN do it. Well, on Friday night as I was drawing up the mtx, she

asked me " If I was to do my own injection where would I do it " . I told her the

leg or tummy and we talked a bit and she said ok, I want to do the mtx. And she

did. She said that was easy, give me the Enbrel and she did it as well. She

was amazed that it hurt much less in the thigh then in her arm. I think I

mentioned in another post that she sure is growing up. She has always been like

that though, she just wont do somethign till she is ready and then she does it

perfectly. She was that way with tying her shoe, writing her name and riding a

bike. She would refuse to try no matter how much we tried to show her and help

her and then she would suddenly just do it perfect like she had been doing it a

long time. So why am I not used to it yet?

She is growing up. I'm really impressed she is doing them herself.
