Guest guest
Dear, you have GOT to see a doctor to find the cause, otherwise, any treatment, however promising, is a shot in the dark. What if it is something else that needs immediate attention? Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
Hello We have not posted for a long while but I have been trying to keep up with the post by reading.I feel silly asking for advise since I have not responed on here for so long. Well Dakota has been doing really well latley up until this last couple months. He has been med free for 6 years. He does still have his bad days but all in all it has been good. He has really been hurting alot latley for the last couple months and having bad headaches that dont seem to go away. We have had blood work done but they keep coming back normal. So I guess what I am asking is has anyone had their child go into remission for a long while and then flare again. I dont know maybe some different tests need to be done. He had appointment with his ped next week. He has had his eyes checked and they say they are fine. So any suggestions would be helpfull. Thank you Rosetta Dakota 9 systemic

You DO NOT want the infection to give facial paralysis or even worse get into your brain. You need to have it taken care of. From: teenna77 <teenna77@...>Subject: Please Helpcholesteatoma Date: Saturday, October 1, 2011, 5:39 PM Hi, I was diagnosed with this about 8yrs ago and at that time was going to have a surgery. I t turned out that because it was considered a pre existing condition my insurance did not cover it. Living with this has been a struggle because I have experienced significant hearing loss and my ear drains constatntly and it really smells disgusting. I have started to experience headaches and sometimes my jaw locks on that side. I'M scared because I am afraid that after the surgery I won't be able to work, drive and just be normal. I am 34 yrs old. Are these signs that I should be taking really serious and consider having this surgery? How long is the recovery? ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Definitely have the surgery. I had it done 4 years ago and it's one of the best decisions I have ever made (wish I did it sooner). Good luck. Guest guest
You must consult some ENT doctor and uundergo surgery. Otherwise it will go on slowly eroding the important structure in ear, even may get some intracranial complication Best of luck Dr. Arun Gupta, ENT Surgeon,INdia On Sat, Oct 1, 2011 at 11:09 PM, teenna77 <teenna77@...> wrote: Hi, I was diagnosed with this about 8yrs ago and at that time was going to have a surgery. Guest guest
redduke93: Unfortunately, the pre-existing condition exclusions aren't slated to go away until 2014. teena77: Here is a general piece of information that the National Library of Medicine has put together. It goes into some detail about what Dr. Gupta has written. It's a little startling to get a diagnosis like cholesteatoma, but the sooner you get this taken care of the better. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001050.htm Matt redduke93 wrote: > > > > You need to see an ENT even if you have to pay out of pocket.
