Guest guest
that is great. The heart stress test is easy one. Mine was chemically induced, I just laid on the table and chatted with the tech while she was watching the screen during my test. Sandie -- SOME GOOD NEWS... FIRST THE GOOD NEWS. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO BE GONE FOR AWHILE, BUT GOD ANSWERED ALL THE PRAYERS. THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT HAS BEEN HERE FOR ME. SECOND, THE SERIOUS NEWS.... MY DOCTOR HAS DECIDED I NEED TO TAKE A HEART STRESS TEST. ALSO SHE IS CONCERNED OVER MY KIDNEYS AND THIS MIGHT REQUIRE A BIOPSY. I WON'T KNOW ANY MORE DETAILS UNTIL AFTER FEB. 21. Guest guest
Chriiistiana ask for a pharmacuticeal stress test is where you lie down they put an IV in yuo take a picture of your heart at rest then do it after they inject drugs in yuo to get it up to training heart rate while looking at the screen the whole time then after IV comes out while it goes back down to normal it is a breeze ask what yuor EF rate is too ok Hone.I have had 2 heart atacks a mitral, pulmonary and arotic valve that regurate so i have this fun thing every year now for your kidneys did yuo get a VMA done where you pee for 24 huors into a orange jug to test yuor kidneys nad yuor adernal glands too. I also get that done too.I use to be a newtwork coordinator for woemn Heart and Go red campaign from 199-2003 so i still educate women on heart disease but only through e-mails too. but first ask what type of stress test adn when it is done your EF rate anything above 60% is good below means a blockage now remember our hearts nad plumbiong are different and smaller too. But so glad you will be here too for us so we can lift you up in prayer for yes you are a blesing to us even to me and I have known you a short while too. But please elt us know the results too if ti si a Pharmacuticeal stress test they can tell you some things like any leaakage or reguration or EF rate if you ask it ok sweetie e-mail me iof you need to. hugs heidi > > FIRST THE GOOD NEWS. Guest guest
....no, make that GREAT news! It is amazing what the right drug combo can do for your child!! After years of juggling NSAIDs, steroids (oral and injected), Methotrexate (tablet and injected), and good old paracetamol and codeine for pain relief. Looks like we have a potential winner with Enbrel - still with Mtx once a week (both injected). After being on and off the walking frame, in and out of a wheelchair, and with all the casts, splints, and bandages in between, Bayly competed in his school athletics carnival for the first time this year. He has previously sat on the sidelines or been a helper with the events. Not only did he get up and go in this age race, but he attempted the 800 metres (that's 2625 feet for the non metric among us)!!! I wasn't there to see it unfortunately but by all accounts (and soooooo many people wanted to tell me how proud they were of Bayly) he trotted off and was approaching the end of the first lap (400m) when he really started to show signs of fatigue and effort, well didn't he have the entire school, and all the parents and teachers watching, cheering him on saying " Go Bayly! Go Bayly! " and he finished the first lap to great applause by all accounts (and some teary eyes too). He couldn't go on for the second lap, but gee- 400m for a kid who could once barely walk at all, and has been bullied for how funny he runs or how slow he is... is just terrific in my book! Just wanted to share. I am just so proud of my son for his amazing courage and tenacity. Jo Bayly, 9, eoJIA
Guest guest
So happy for you Jo and especially for Bayly. I pray that the Enbrel continues to work for him and that he will be running circles around the others soon. Just reading your note and knowing some of what you have all been through, I have tears in my eyes. I know how proud you must be. But more then that I can just see the smile on his face and how proud he must be himself. Tell him we are all cheering for him. Personally, I think this is a national event and should have been televised. Way to go and keep up the good job. Veri & Jaye Some good news... ....no, make that GREAT news! Guest guest
What a terrific way to put it ! Thanks everyone. Furthermore..... this week Bayly's painting has been chosen to represent his school (with a couple of others) in the statewide art competition run through the Department of Health & Department of Education. This from a little boy who has arthritis in his wrists, elbows and shoulders (among other places) and has had many an OT appointment working on his fine motor skills! He's just charging along at the moment. Where's the emoticon to show my *BIG TIME HAPPY FACE*?! Jo > > What absolutely wonderful news...Enbrel gave my son his childhood back as well. Guest guest
Trust me Jo, the emotion comes through in your words. I am so excited for you as Mom, but even more so for Bayly. I can just imagine the smile on his face is as big as yours. Veri & Jaye 17 poly Re: Some good news... What a terrific way to put it ! Thanks everyone.
