Guest guest
Hello to all and may this find you well. I am writing to update?the list about advocacy efforts on behalf of the Arthritis Foundation and its advocates. Most of you know about the Arthritis Prevention Control and Cure?Act and know it passed in the House in September. This is incredible! However we recieved news today it will not be passing the Senate in this lame duck session and therefore we will continue our efforts in 2009. This was sad for those who have worked so hard but it only means we work a little harder.....I also learned there are still nine states with NO arthritis ambassadors. ?Those nine states are: ?Arkansas, Louisiana, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, New Mexico, Nebraska, South Dakota, and New Hampshire. ?For more info on being an advocate, especially an ambassador please go to?????http://www.arthritis.org/inside-advocacy.php??? This is a very exciting opportunity and as Kentuckys third district ambassador I can truly say it is a unique chance to have your voice heard over? a fight so important to us all. The time requirement is approx. 2 hours per month and tasks include phone calls, emails or visits to your local reps. It is easy!! Please join me as an ambassador and lets make a difference! If you are in Oklahoma, Wyoming, or North Carolina, it is your Senators who had objections to this bill so consider speaking up! I know this matters to us all and I know there are many who want to be heard. This is your chance. If you are interested please let me know asap and please send St.??kstjohn@...?? an email indicating your desire to be an ambassador and let her know I sent you her way...... Thanks!
