Car Accident to a Medical Record Mix up? Yep lolol

Hi All,

Well we talked about the Medical records mess before. Well about 7pm

tonight and I was coming home and we were at a RED Light. was

wearing her seat belt like all times and I was too. had just got her a

KFC meal. Heading home and to get warm as it was COLD here today.

I stopped at the RED Light and thinking it was safe to move lolol

She sat her meal in the bag in the floor board. JUST as she leans over we

get a Smack in the back end. Yep someone was not paying attention and we got

hit. The light was R E D meaning stop but mot let me stop you right. Well I got

out of the car and walked to the back and asked the young guy what was he

thinking. I looked at my car and did not see any damage but it is DARK. He said

here's my insurance card and Driver's licenses. I heard holler for me

and she said Mom call 911 I am hurting BAD. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I walked back to

the guy and said well my daughter is calling 911 as he said Ma'Am I am so

sorry. It was my fault. I was trying to grab my drink as it was knocked over

UMMM He thought the drink was ummm lets say more important than where he was

going. I gave him the MOM preaching about it is important to keep your eyes on

the road. lololol. As this intersection is known to be for Tractor Trailers.

I said did you know if my car was not in your way you would have went into a

Tractor Trailer. He said yes I would have.

Well The police came and had the NERVE to ask me how much did I drink?

Shocked I said well I been drinking Pepsi all day. lololol. Maybe they ask

that to everyone. The Ambulance came and got to hollering in pain as

they tried to get her out of my car. A Friend on the EMT Ambulance was there

and

was trying to help get out. I hollered at them and said I have a

Lever to let the back of the seat down. it took 3 men to think of how to get

her

out. I called my hubby and daughter in law as we were less that a mile from

the house. My daughter in law did not wait on hubby and left him. lolololol.

She got there just as they pulled out. lolol. felt better but

still in pain as her neck was braced and she was on a back board. The Friend

came over and said Robbin she will be ok. I have to make sure as if I don't

You will tell my Mom lolol. I realized at that moment WHO he was lolol. I said

yep as I will now tell your Mom that I am greatful she had you as you have

helped . He laughed as my daughter in law said oh that's my brother

lolol But it is not really her brother.

NOW The Ambulance had ALL info on CORRECTLY. Remember the Police

and EMT's and Ambulance people had the CORRECT info. Since I could not leave

my car I was told to drive it on home and one of my family members would take

me on to the Hospital where would be. My Sister had left work to

take me. Well I got there and the Triage lady asked who I needed and I said

well My daughter was brought in by Ambulance and I gave her 's name. She

said Ma'am she has not got here yet. My Sister and I looked at each other and

said Umm she had plenty of time to get here by Ambulance. Then the lady

found . After almost giving me a Heart Attack with the thought of

in a Hospital somewhere I did not know about. We went back to see her. She was

in a lot of pain. On the backboard still and neck brace on. So we waited for

xrays to be done and make sure nothing was broken. Thank goodness nothing

was broke. said Mom you know they came in here with the Motrin to give

me and I told them I was allergic to it before you got here. She said the

lady was going to give it to her anyway. said hey If you give it to me

after I tell you I can not take it then something is wrong. So the lady went

to tell the Dr had refused the medication. Ummm Remember this.

I went and found the lady and told her Look on her record she has

Allergys to many drugs. I am proud of my daughter for asking what you were

about to

give her as she knows she is allergic to so much. She said well it does not

show she is allergic to anything here. Another RED Flag which I missed. I

thought well maybe the Ambulance people did not tell her. Ummm RED FLAG Since

was gagging as with every move she was feeling as she was going to

throw up. The Dr said to give her another Medication. said wait a minute

what is that first. Well I have learned to read up on Medications as you never

know if it is similar to a drug which causes a reaction. This was a ok drug

so took it.

ready to get out of the Hospital. With Pain meds and a list of How to help her.

We got to the check out office and I be dang. They have as age 24

yrs old and Ummm She is not but someone else. UMMM We looked at her ER

Bracelet and yep They have put someone elses name on . Oh what else

could go wrong now. lololol

Well the Prescription is written for another person so we can not get it

filled. lololol. I have to laugh as it is way to Serious now. I looked at

the record of what she was given. It says Patient refused Medication which is

true. It was a Med which she is allergic to. BUT the other patient was not.

They had did all those xrays in another persons name as well. I told them well

I am glad she was able to speak up as if she was unconsous you would have

probably killed her. At this point the Nurse and Administration was called and

We were told oh Ma'am we are so sorry about the mix up but the Computer put it

in wrong? I said How in the H can a computer put in wrong info. lolol. I am

just glad my daughter was awake and was able to voice her health to you. A

Medical Mistake again? Serious one if she was not awake.

I asked if her xrays were done in the other persons name as well. They

admitted it was in the other persons name. WHich I said well that HAS to be

straightened out cause I need those xrays and the Medical report. Well before

we left I looked over ALL the papers and dang it again her name was wrong.

They missed spelled her last name by 1 letter and again I said it is still not

right. Ok over it all again and FINALLY it was fixed. I said ok come next week

when I come to get Copies if I have ANY trouble getting them I will go

looking for y'all to straighten it out once again. lolol.

Now here it is a Simple ER visit becomes a Dangerous situation if the

person was not awake. So next time anyone has to go to the ER make sure someone

goes with them as well as checking the bracelet and asking about the

Medication being given. Get the name and dose. Just in case it is something the

person is allergic to. is asleep now and hoping tomorrow is not hard on

her. I will make sure from now on NOT to send or anyone in a Ambulance

without a Family member.
