Guest guest
n was on mtx and Kineret. Kineret didn't work so we dropped it. That was 5 years ago. She is still on mtx. Do any parents here have experience with their children being on both Kineret and Methotrexate? With my daughter the Kineret seems to be " doing the trick " but while we've been weaning the MTX we've seen very occasional symptoms. We are down to .6ml MTX and set to reduce further this week. The Rheumy's plan is to wean the MTX and increase the Kineret if needed. is currently on a very low dose of Kineret - .11ml, less than her weight dosing. So we do have some room to go to increase Kineret. Let me know what you think. > Thanks, nn (mom to , 9, systemic) > >

Guest guest
nn, I understand your apprehension about weining off the mtx. We are not on Kineret, Jaye is on Enbrel, methotrexate, mobic, hydroxichloroquine, folic acid, prevacid and her seizure meds. she is doing so good right now and I know that the plan soon is to wein her off of something. I did not even ask the rheumy what he will wein first. She has been on the Enbrel now for four or five months, I need to go back and see when we started it. But she is doing so good and has not been good for so long that even though I hate her being on so many medications it scares me to think about taking her off. I am afraid I will be on edge and looking for every little sign that something is going wrong when we do. I pray that they find just the right mix for and keep her in control. Our neurologist at the last appointment mentioned again the possibility of trying to wein Jaye off of the Keppra, that thought is exciting as well as terrifying. the last time we took her off her sezire meds it lasted for three years, now that she is driving I have mixed emotions about taking her off. Trust your gut with what you see and keep an open line of communication with your rheumy. Guest guest
My daugher took the Methotrxate and Kineret. Kineret helped us to lower her prelone doses, but unfortunately we were not able totally to wean off her from Prelone, so we switched to a different drug. The doctos told that the combination of Kineret and Methotrexate have more positive result and better chance to control JRA. Pro: Helped my daugher to be more active; took away the pain Con: daily shot - she says that Humira shot is less painful compare to Kineret ________________________________ From: nn <rosannwinn@...> Sent: Fri, March 25, 2011 7:32:25 PM Subject: Question about Kineret/Methotrexate  Since my discussion here with about weaning 's Methotrexate I am now curious.
