If you are afraid of measles...I think the vaccine is more dangerous than

getting the disease...I am educating myself on the symptoms and the treatment

options for all the diseases that my child might get...I plan to be proactive

and make sure that my daughter has a strong immune system to be able to get

through the diseases. Vaccination does not help your immune system.

Your will not have no antibodies at all, just fewer and they will disappear

faster.

In my opinion it's not a stronger argument to have him vaccinated. But

obviously, the decision is yours.

Thank you for the info. I wasn't worried about my daughter getting atypical

measles. I was worried about my husband. What would happen to my husband if

my daughter developed measles? Is there any way to find out which vaccine

he received?

Thank you,

It won't matter which -- the vaccines are only good for 10 years, maybe. I

had the shot in 1967 and had the measles in 1982. I lived, but that's about

all I can say. Perhaps had I known more about holistic remedies and care, I

would've done better.

How old were you when you had measles and what was it like? Pretty bad?

I was 23. It was pretty bad, at least the latter half was which was about 1

week. The fever ran 104 for 3 days. I was delerious and taken to emergency

2x Once the fever broke - about noon on a Saturday, the rash hit, and I

don't remember the feeling exactly, but for 3 or 4 days I thought I was going

to have to hurt myself. I particularly remember my thighs and lower back

feeling the most uncomfortable.

sorry, forgot to mention side effects -- I lost my hearing for about 6

months, and from that point forward I have had several internal organ

problems which have plagued me mysteriously for the last 20 years. My liver,

we thought, was hit the worst, but now I've been informed that a kidney, my

pancreas, and my gallbladder are damaged. Most likely the gallbladder will

be removed, and we don't know about the rest. I have had several cysts, 2

which burst (they do not run in my family) and caused moderate to severe

scarring. So, in addition to several things considered " normal " , I have had

all of the above to contend with. The hearing and liver damage were the only

things I could get verification on until recently.

Our daughter had Rebella at age 6.5. It was not too bad at all.. I, myself

had it at approximately the same age... I found it not too bad at all.. a bit

itchy.. a bit miserable... but nothing worth putting aborted babies into a

person's body for.

Have a blessed week!

I was vaccinated in 1966 or 67 - the only of 6 children. My mother was

coerced with a scare tactic. The measles happened in 82, I was part of or

contracted them from the New York City outbreak which occurred that spring.

Never did find out if it started from exposure to the live vaccine, or was

just us " old " folks who weren't boostered getting caught. But my

understanding is, over 85% of the " victims " were adults. Additionally,

through my " trying to get healthy " phase of the last 10 years, we also

believe that I was vaccinated with a contaminated (sv40) shot. I lived in

San Diego, and the naval people were always thinking up something new to try

on the populace there -- however, we were unable after 3 years to find any

medical records, even through the school. this would relate to other

problems I have, one of which is bizarre arthritis which began rearing it's

ugly head when I was 27 (chest joints, etc.).

So, I quit trying to worry about how it all happened, and I concentrate on

trying to just fix it or relieve it as best I can. Additionally, I try to

let other parents know what they need to avoid...

No, I was waaaaaaaaay single. Turned out for the good though, when I was

pregnant with #1 12 years later, my titers were so high the doctor was

concerned that I had recently been vaccinated.

Oh my gosh. I just realized something. If I decided

not to vaccinate my future children, wouldn't I be

puting my husband and myself (both vaccinated, but not

up to date) at risk for the diseases they " prevent " ? I

wouldn't be too worried except for the fact that these

diseases are worse in adulthood.

What have others experienced with this? What have you

done to keep yourself from getting sick?

The immunization decision, How to raise a healthy child in spite of your

doctor, Vaccine free prevention & treatment with homeopathy Alternatives for

domestic and foreign disease, I have tons of sites and information from this

group and another group. I am on the Illinois vaccine awareness coalition

and have been sent some info.., my son sees a homeopath and he has given me

both sides and which side he is on. I have asked numerous amounts of people

who had suffered these diseases what they were like. And that is about it.

Consider getting the Neil Z. books. He has three of them. Also,

get Walene book called " Immunization the Reality Behind the

Myth " . One section explains the gov't and how they change the

definitions of diseases and epidemics, etc. All four of those books are

very good. How to raise is good but it is not super detailed on the

vaccines. Also, get the NVIC conf. tapes. After that it really comes

down to you and your husband making a decision.

Have you read the vaccine package inserts?

did the rash only come after the fever broke? That has been my experience

with Roseola. 2 kids, and 5 years in a daycare center and that's the

typical pattern that I saw. I also noticed with the boys (as the kids in

daycare were home for a few days), that about day 3 of the rash, it started

to lighten up and within a week - 10 days (the boys are 8 and 11 its' hard

to remember that far back) it was gone.

When my son had roseola, it started as a really high fever and then when the

fever broke, he had the rash. The rash was totally gone within three days.

Good luck, trying to figure out what it is, I know that it can be

frustrating. When Colin first had his fever, it was so high that I took him

into Urgent Care (this was befoe I " knew " better) and they just automatically

assumed that it was strep and an ear infection, so of course they prescribed

antibiotics. I took him to his regular ped and she said that it was just the

roseola and the only thing that I could do was to keep him comfortable!

I don't remember reading a description of the rash.

Can you describe the chain of events from when your child first got sick
