Milt,

Hopefully the info will be up on the AF website soon. In the meantime~~

The conference will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Crystal City

(which is actually part of Arlington), Virginia. The closest airport is

Reagan National. The Metro (subway) stops at Reagan and there is also a stop

very close to the hotel, about a five minute walk, I think. A rental car is

not needed as the Metro has stops all over DC and can get you close to all

of the major attractions/museums. The conference rate for the hotel is about

$120 plus tax and will be available for the standard 3 days before and 3

days after the conference, subject to availability. Within walking distance

of the hotel you will find everything from fast food to high end

restaurants.

If you decide to fly into BWI you can still get to the hotel on public

transportation but it is more of a challenge with lots of luggage or younger

children. At this time there is no public transportation to/from Dulles so

if you choose that option you will need to rent a car, pay for a taxi or

ride a shuttle bus (not a free one!).

See you in July!

Liz

Subject: 2011 Juvenile Arthritis Conference in VA, looking for

information.

Hi Everyone,

It's almost time for the annual JA Conference.

Just wondering if anyone has any information on the upcoming JA conference

in Crystal City, VA. My youngest daughter wants to join us after missing out

on the last two conferences. She does not have arthritis but she enjoys all

the fun. What is the closest airport to the conference location? Accessible

by subway? I am hoping we do not need to rent a car to see the sights in DC

and to attend the conference. Does anybody know if there is a conference

rate for the hotel if we extend our stay so that we can visit the history in

DC?

Thanks,

Milt
