Guest guest
Hi Rochelle welcome to the group. Sorry to hear about the pain you have in your neck. I can't help you with what you have I had lower neck problems and had a fusion there 2 yrs ago and its pretty good now. I just had a double layer back fusion 3 months ago and am still recovering from that. All I can tell you is neck pain is WEIRD, stranger than back pain from what I went thru. So many nerves up there to hurt its harder I think for dr's to find the right place that is hurting you. I wish you luck with your next test hopefully they will find the answer there. I know its no picnic though I have gone thru all of this for over 6 yrs and it was all from injuries I incurred 17-20 yrs ago. Long term you pay for this it seems like. I hope you have better luck with this next test. Best wishes Sharon Group Owner > > Hi everyone, > I am a new member as of today. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Thank you for the welcome. Hope your recovery from back surgery is going well. I've never heard of a double layer back fusion. Can't even imagine what you went through. Guest guest
Hi Matt, Welcome to the group. I am fairly new myself. Moatly I joined because of bad neck pain and spasm. Recently my back has been giving me trouble, but I have not done too much with it yet, since my neck is really what I need to fix right now. Because your pain has changed from the back area to also shooting down your leg (sciatic nerve pain), you need further studies -- at least an MRI. Depending on what the doc (orthopedic?) sees, he will decide the course of action. Maybe you would do well with a lumbar epidural with long acting corticosteroids, which is a pretty simple procedure. This reduces inflamation around the nerves in the back. Then you could return to PT. That seems to be a common course of action for backs as well as necks. Then it is really important to do the exercises the rest of your life!!!! Rochelle -- In neck pain , " vpiegr " <matthewhickman1@...> wrote: > > Hey All, > > Joined a few groups tonight. Guest guest
hi Matt welcome to the group. It sounds like you are having sciatic nerve pain. But what is causing it is the key thing. It could be a herniated disc or a bulging one or something else. Has your dr orederd a MRI for you yet?? Most do since xrays don't show as much as a MRI does. I have had sciatic pain in my left leg all the way to my foot and around it for 6+ years. Recovering from my 3rd surgery to try and get rid of it right now. I know its tough to live with not being able to walk and move around freely really ruins your daily life. But if I were you I would look into getting you well now cause those kids are going to need you for a long time and it may get better or it may get worse. Surgery if your dr suggest that would be from 3-6 months recovery time, yet even in that time you would still be able to do First you will have to see your dr this week and find out what is wrong with your back. After you find out I am sure several people here should be able to tell you what they have been thru what worked and what didn't. I can point you to some areas online to do some research but first you really need to know what exactly is causing your problems.I would suggest you write down a list of ??? " s to ask the dr when you go that is a good way to start. Best wishes and welcome again. Sharon Group Onwer > > Hey All, > > Joined a few groups tonight. All related to back pain. Guest guest
--Hi , I have had back problems for some 9+ years and can relate to how it feels about talking to anyone about your back. My husband is sick of hearing it, nobody else wants to hear about it, my mother was my confidante and she passed away 2 years ago. I never thought that back pain would come to take over my life. I came to the decision this summer that I want to try the surgery, I just can't see myself living the rest of my life out like this. Did your surgery lessen the pain at all? My dr. said it may decrease the pain by " 3 " on the pain scale or it could be much worse. Guest guest
welcome aboard. which treatments? read into it/them carefully....i guess that's already your intention. consider the long term possible adverse effects of the drugs both passing & permanent, & the likelihood of sides since you have already a history of depression. consider the odds of clearing for your genotype. then take those odds & consider the odds of staying clear. consider the current state of your condition re symptoms & labs associated with the HCV...just how imperative is immediate treatment for survival? look into the new protease inhibitors currently in trials that offer radically improved results (maybe actually a cure), shorter treatments, far less sides, and the possible timeframe of their availability to you in time to matter. consider the possibility of a combination of alternative protocols to cleanse/detox, maintain preferable internal environmental factors, immmune enhancement, and direct anti-viral attack. there are many that can be used in combination. they require substantial lifestyle revision for most people, but have the benefit of attacking a multitude of conditions safely & simultaneously. if you can manage your viral load effectively you might be perfectly happy & comfortable waiting for better treatment options. if you're of the unquestioning herd mentality obedient to " authority " you may be led to harvest & not have a good time at all along the way. think outside the box, because all too aften the box is a cash box and it's not yours. the box is also composed of narrow specific boundaries of the specialized mindset. i'm managing pretty well, or so it appears, so far with colloidal silver... greatly reduced symptoms, increased energy, in less than two months. if/when i manage to have the resources to get with a lot of foods, herbs, supplements, & more i believe i might just beat this thing such that i can be at the least symptom & progression free until some young drunk punks set me ablaze or some idiot cellphone abuser in traffic gets me caught up in a terminal pile-up. i've probably had the HVC since 70's or 60's; somewhat symptomatic but unidentified over decades; diagnosed in 2002 when condition escalated as part of severe malnutrition & high stress for a year that followed about 5 years of high stress + moderate steady alcohol use & remarriage to the tobacco demon. there's a LOT in the archives of messages from this list of value. they can be searched by keywords in the group's homepage...the trick is in using keywords & patience to wade through & skip over the bulk not of interest. that can give you a big jumpstart in exploring your interests & avoid the repetition of stuff on the active posts. it can help you formulate better questions to post. things are really pretty hopeful if you avoid pitfalls! cheers, bobL > New member > > > Hello: > I am a new member. Guest guest
Welcome to the group! Sorry we all have to meet this way. Before making any decisions about treatment...read, read, read, very carefully.... Remember that any " treatment " is just that... " treatment " not a cure. Proceed with caution, and question everything. Anything you put in your body that does not belong there, will hurt you in the long run. Regardless of the what the professionals tell you. So, it really just depends on the amount of risk you are willing to take. And this includes the so called " natural " remedies as well. I would be especially cautious about all of the colloidal silver stuff. There is no money in a cure...only treatment..which provides residual income. Just be smart. . Guest guest
Thanks for the response. The issue of treatment options is very confusing. When I read all the side effects I question the quality of life that a person would have during treatment. I am not into suffering more, survival through depression was only recently accomplished as was kicking a long term physician induce benzo depression. Do you have any advise on merits of follow up biospy as opposed to other test? My current doc is one track mind that biospy is a must followed by interferon combination treatment. > > welcome aboard. > > which treatments? read into it/them carefully....i guess that's already your > intention. > consider the long term possible adverse effects of the drugs both passing & > permanent, & the likelihood of sides since you have already a history of > depression. > consider the odds of clearing for your genotype. > then take those odds & consider the odds of staying clear. > consider the current state of your condition re symptoms & labs associated > with the HCV...just how imperative is immediate treatment for survival? > look into the new protease inhibitors currently in trials that offer > radically improved results (maybe actually a cure), shorter treatments, far > less sides, and the possible timeframe of their availability to you in time > to matter. > consider the possibility of a combination of alternative protocols to > cleanse/detox, maintain preferable internal environmental factors, immmune > enhancement, and direct anti-viral attack. there are many that can be used > in combination. they require substantial lifestyle revision for most > people, but have the benefit of attacking a multitude of conditions safely & > simultaneously. > if you can manage your viral load effectively you might be perfectly happy & > comfortable waiting for better treatment options. > if you're of the unquestioning herd mentality obedient to " authority " you > may be led to harvest & not have a good time at all along the way. think > outside the box, because all too aften the box is a cash box and it's not > yours. the box is also composed of narrow specific boundaries of the > specialized mindset. > > i'm managing pretty well, or so it appears, so far with colloidal silver... > greatly reduced symptoms, increased energy, in less than two months. > if/when i manage to have the resources to get with a lot of foods, herbs, > supplements, & more i believe i might just beat this thing such that i can > be at the least symptom & progression free until some young drunk punks set > me ablaze or some idiot cellphone abuser in traffic gets me caught up in a > terminal pile-up. i've probably had the HVC since 70's or 60's; somewhat > symptomatic but unidentified over decades; diagnosed in 2002 when condition > escalated as part of severe malnutrition & high stress for a year that > followed about 5 years of high stress + moderate steady alcohol use & > remarriage to the tobacco demon. > > there's a LOT in the archives of messages from this list of value. they can > be searched by keywords in the group's homepage...the trick is in using > keywords & patience to wade through & skip over the bulk not of interest. > that can give you a big jumpstart in exploring your interests & avoid the > repetition of stuff on the active posts. it can help you formulate better > questions to post. > > things are really pretty hopeful if you avoid pitfalls! > > cheers, > bobL > > > > New member > > > > > > Hello: > > I am a new member. Guest guest
i'd definitely get the biopsy so you can have the info on genotype & status of the livers condition. & get bloodwork sometimes to have a look at enzymes & viral counts, but they all fluctuate a lot so cash outlay might make that less desireable. maintain the position that the docs work for you, & if they don't fit that description replace or eliminate them as they're probably dangerous to be involved with. the way i see it (i'm no doc, i'm a painter/paperhanger with enough education to be able to understand some of what i read & enough worldly experience to fear & be sceptical of anything but self reliance): i also have history of depression, not clinically diagnosed until last week when i was assessed for PTSD. coming from such a history, if you're going to take the meds you should start on anti-depressants a few months in advance ...that's conventional med thinking & probably a real good idea, at least for most people. the antidepressants contribute problems & a body load of their own, which you have sorely found out. the meds, considering odds of response, odds of recurrence, odds of short & /orlong term, even possibly permanent, sides & body damage aren't worth it unless maybe the HCV is so advanced it's a matter of life saving (that's how i see it). i would, & am in the process of, using the docs for diagnostics & monitoring, then using other means of management (as i wrote about previously). i've been kicking these ideas around since 10/2002 when i was diagnosed. this last summer it was getting imperatively time to do something definite. the CS alone has me in two short months in better shape (except for need to get back into exercise & stop cigars) than i've been in a couple decades. the potential benefits from additional things carefully planned & applied like cleansing, detox, herbs, medicinal foods, pH adjustments, micro-electric currents, maybe Rife technology (if i get rich enough), etc etc is huge with no down-sides except some cash outlay & inconvenience. by the time the protease inhibitors arrive within reach i could see a reasonable probability of there being no need for them if i pull this all together. we're all gamblers in this best of all possible worlds, & you can't win with a losing hand, but chance favors the prepared mind... the CS is working on me to lift my spirits towards optimism just from my results so far combined with others' testimonials. think i'll have a shot (2oz) & go to bed. sleep is better too. so is waking up & seeing i'm still stuck on this planet (whatever THAT is!). i'm getting real interested in this stuff almost like a fun game... maybe that's a good thing. confusion abounds, & answers raise more questions, but progress gets made, order comes out of chaos if you persevere. be careful, since we tend to attract what we expect the most that's something to try to work with too. it's all spiritual warfare really. allies are around. there's new horizons unfolding despite obstacles. so that's my story and i'm sticking to it. g'nite, bobL > New member > > > > > > > > > Hello: > > > I am a new member. Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome. How do I post to the group? Any help would be appreciated. Aprilcupcake@... wrote: Welcome to the group! Just be smart. . Guest guest
ABSOLUTELY IT IS!!! Bonnie New Member I am just investigating the benefit of coconut oil. Wondering if it is everything the books says it is? It is really beneficial? Thanks
Guest guest
I use coconut oil instead of other oils, not in addition to them. Also, the medium chain triglycerides in coconut oil are used by the body for energy, much more than fat storage. Of course, one needs to be active to burn the energy. Guest guest
However, the 120 calories/tablespoon is daunting. How do you all deal with that? & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & we have been eating coconut oil exclusivcely for over a year now (well, about 90% of our cooking and eating is cocnut oil and 10% is red palm oil) altho my husband and I have never been obese, we have definitely noticed that we have lost weight since we have started on these two oils. Of course, we also, along w/ the healthy oils , eat a very healthy diet . Our diet has not sigificantly changed tho, over the last year of weight loss, we live on a farm and have always eaten healthy. But the main thing that has changed is that we have totally and completely elliminated all hydrogenated oils out of our food in any form and added the healthy oils 100%. I noticed in my last pregnancy inthe last year, when I was 46 , that altho I had a great appetite, and ate as much as I did in my younger pregnancies, that I wouldnt gain weight. I only gained about 14 lbs the entire pregnancy compared to 40 lbs in some other pregnancies. The difference that I concluded was eating a diet higher in healthy fats. I see in my dh who is 52 and in myself now in my non-pregnant state, that altho we dont have a scale, so I am not sure of our exact weight or any actual number loss atributed to the healthy oils, that the main place we have lost is thru our middles and our butts. We have a definite problem keeping pants up that have fit just fine for years. I know that I have heard that middle age people who have large stomachs are most prone to heart disease, so perhaps the weight dropping in our middles is significant to those findings since we both are small in that area at this point. Here is an article that talks about weight loss and coconut oil: http://www.coconutoil.com/weight_loss.htm

Guest guest
The third agent, besides the Interferon and Ribivirin may be an anti- depressant. There is a history of suicide with the Interferon therapy and doctors are now pre-treating with an anti-pepressant. Beck
Guest guest
> I've tried the Qlink and it does not seem to help at all. > Anyone found anything else? Special diets? Certain supplements? Lee, it sounds like you're already doing about as much as one could hope for in terms of avoidance. As for diets and supplements, I've found that evening primrose oil capsules and strong antioxidants (e.g. Megahydrin, Amrit) are helpful. Also look into any and everything that contains seaweed/kelp. Do you have any metal dental work? History with mercury/lead/aluminum poisoning? Removal of metals and heavy metal detoxification can be a good way of reducing symptoms around EMF (as long as you are very careful -- the whole heavy metal removal " industry " is full of potentially dangerous practices). As for devices, Clarus doesn't seem to have a good success ratio here. People here have had success with the Bioprotect card, Quantum Products, Stetzerizer filters, Springlife Polarizers, Tachyon products, and others. Guest guest
Hi Lee, welcome to the group, and every sympathy in your predicament. As Marc hints below, a difficulty with ES is that what works for one person often doesn't work for another, so there are no guaranteed " quick fixes " . (Plenty of examples in past emails!) But it is worth trying some things out, while also looking for a long-term approach. The big question I always feel is - when and why did the problem start, and what's the underlying cause? For someone who's eating a healthy diet, and avoiding EMF's as far as possible, yet still suffering ES symptoms in conditions that don't affect the majority of people, there must be some good reason. For many people it seems to be a badly damaged immune system, often for very obscure reasons. I don't want to sound flippant, but is there any possibility of transferring to a school without a wireless network? Over here in the UK I think they are not all that common yet in schools, though use is growing. Depends what the situation is where you're living. For most people, prolonged exposure to a frequency you're sensitised to seems to make things worse.
