Guest guest
This is ridiculous, people are allowed their beliefs and to speak of them here if they want, if you don't like it, don't read it. There are some here that are Jewish also. Do you see us complaining? This is a free country and we are free to have our beliefs and our freedom to talk about them.......Take Care Trish ..............................Connie __________________________________________________

Guest guest
I think we've had a very healthy discussion today, on the subject of respecting one another's personal beliefs. It's been very refreshing. This awful disease has brought us together as a group. And I believe that we all want to be friends, support each other and respect each other. My husband and I are also Christians. And I feel that in today's day and age, there tends to be a prejudice against Christians. Yes, prejudice. Everybody seems so quick to rally behind the flag of free speech, but if you speak up and say you follow Jesus....stop right there!!! That's not allowed! Double standards are easy to see, if you really look. In the schools...... you can teach kids every religion and philosophy of the world, tell them you're gonna " do it anyway " so here... take this condom despite the risk of life-threatening diseases.........but you'd better take down the Ten Commandments posted on the wall and you certainly can't allow kids to pray....... 'cause that so very dangerous! In the world of politics [sorry, folks!]. In past months, we've seen vice-presidential candidate Joe Liberman be very open and honest about his Jewish beliefs, but look at all the fuss that's been made over Ashcroft (an evangelical Christian) being nominated Attorney General. And I am definitely not being negative toward Jews in making that statement, as I very much support the Jews. Just pointing it out. Anyway, thanks to everyone, and to everyone for understanding. I've been on other email lists, that could definitely learn from the discussion we've had here today! Guest guest
Trish, Welcome to the group but sorry about the disease : ) I have been on combo for about 10 months now only a couple to go hoping it will work but also know that there is a good chance I may be a non responder cuz I am 1b genotype , haven't really thought about what i might do if I am a nonresponder probably just wait for a while to see what new developments come up, depends though. I think you will find the group supportive it certainly has been for me , don't know what i would have done otherwise, need a place to gather new information and support, Suzy _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Guest guest
Trish, I hope you stay with the group, but it wasn't claudine who sent the post. There are many of us that are christians here , and I agree whatever god anyone worships is a matter of individuality, but lets not get preachy here and lose members that could benefit from the support that others with this dreadful disease have to offer. We are all part of the human race and hope that racism( in this case in the form of religion) does not enter into our discussions. Welcome again and remember we are all here for you Suzy From: " Patrice Vicory " <poetrywrtr@...> Reply-Hepatitis Cegroups <Hepatitis Cegroups> Subject: Re: New Member Date: Thu, 18 Jan 2001 08:46:24 -0500 Thank you Tatezi for sharing your thoughts with me and others. I do appreciate that and I hope that I have not caused a conflict within this group by my reply to Claudine as I surely didn't mean any harm. I must admit when I first read her post it did hurt my feelings a bit but then sometimes I can be overly sensitive but also I never carry a grudge or keep my feelings on my sleeve for long. I am over it and hope we can get along. If there is a problem here I will leave the group and it can go back to as it was before I came along. But I do thank my God for sending to you people as I surely needed some upliftment at this time. It really knocked me for a loop when I got the word that I was a non-responder and I needed to reach out to others for support...which I do feel that I received. I thank Claudine for sending the information on the pegylated treatments and have found it informative. Thank you all for you kindness and understanding. Guest guest
Thank you Suzy for writing. Yes Tatezi wrote and told me that it wasn't Claudine who had written me. I misunderstood but it is cleared up now. I try to keep all Christian thoughts to myself here. If I feel the need to talk about my God I have just joined a wonder Christian Hep group at e-groups and can discuss things there of a spiritual nature. Still want to make some good friends here at this list. I am not going to let one persons mail to me ruin my day. Besides maybe they were just having a bad day and needed to take it out on someone and why not me? *S* Hugs, Trish I CAN do ALL things through Christ, which strengtheneth me Phil 4:13 http://www.geocities.com/poetrywrtr/intro.html http://www.geocities.com/tavsdesigns/index.html

Guest guest
Yes Elin I too think it has been refreshing being able to discuss things like we have today. Guest guest
Dear Trish, A belated welcome. I've been a little.....no a lot.....slow about reading my e-mail lately. From what I've read, even as a non-responder to the alpha-Interferon, you stand a better chance of cure with the peg combo than those of us when went through the alpha and ribavirin. The ribavirin does add a whole new aspect to side effects-however, a lot of people have tolerated it quite well. I wasn't one of them, but I've never responded statistacally well to ANY drug I've ever taken. Once again welcome......wish it were for a happier reason. This is a VERY supportive group. I think you'll find more info here than in most groups unless you want to haunt the medical school libraries like I did. TAke care and slay the dragon. Guest guest
Dear Trish, I think I missed something here. I missed the first part of the brewhaha. Which is just as well, unless I'm the one who stuck my foot in my mouth..which I have been known to do. At any rate, I'm gald you've decided to hang with us. We all need to keep in mind that each of us has different ways of dealing with this disease and on our more unpleasant days, we tend to be unpleasant,. I'm sure no harm was meant. Take care and good luck. Anne
Guest guest
Hi sasquasher!<br><br>Have you cut red meats and iron out of your diet? I am assuming you drink NO alcohol. Take Vitamin E twice daily and Vitamin C as well. Keep in mind that the ALT is the most important liver enzyme, BUT...those numbers tend to fluctuate normally and do NOT mean you have extensive liver damage. All the elevated numbers mean is that you have inflammation going on. Nothing will reverse your liver damage if you are in the fibrosis stage, but you won't know that until you have the biopsy. Have you looked into trying to getting seen by a county facility? They BY LAW have to see you, insurance or not.<br><br>Do you know what your genotype is? You may also want to check out this website:<br><br><a href=http://www.centerwatch.com target=new>http://www.centerwatch.com</a><br><br>You can look for treatment studies there. You can also look at <a href=http://www.nih.gov target=new>http://www.nih.gov</a> They have listings of studies they are running all over the country too. Many of them are completely cost free for you if you agree to participate. <br><br>Good luck!<br><br>LeighAnn<br><a href=http://www.geocities.com/1Leighann target=new>http://www.geocities.com/1Leighann</a>

Guest guest
Welcome Norm, And thanks for the website. I knew about D.C., but haven't made a decision on whether to go or not. I just found out that my grand Goddaughters survived TWC 911, so everything, including Christmas celebrations are up in the air. Glad you found us. Guest guest
Thanks Anne! Great news about you Goddaughters, and GOD BLESS them and all! Unfortunately 911 is my birthday, and now I really don't want to remember that date! Please consider doing the e-mail to OPRAH & getting others to do the same. If you or anyone needs details, let me know. We need all the help we can get; even one e-mail from each is a big help! HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HEALTH & HAPPINESS IN THE NEW YEAR!
