Guest guest
Hi Amy! I guess I need to post an update. Been at school taking final exams today and studied last night so haven't posted an update. So here goes: Kaylee had joint injections in her right knee and both ankles. The right ankle had so much scar tissue the rheumy had to make 2 insertions to get to the joint good. Other than that things went good. The remicade infusion went great too. NO problems and Kaylee was a real trooper; very brave and handled it all so well. She was very strong and brave and I am so proud of her. She didn't make it to school today as she was still tired. SHe slept through most of the infusion; which took a little over 2 hours. She still can not play softball or dance until the rheumy says so. We are hoping that will not be long. All in all we had a great day! , Kaylee Joint Injections and First Remicade Infusion Good Morning to everyone! Today Kaylee is going to have joint injections in her ankles and possibly her knees. She will also be getting her first Remicade infusion. We are hoping this gets the JA and Uveitis under control quicker. She is nervous about the Remicade, but I think she will be okay. She hates the Humira and having to do it every week is really traumatizing. It is going to be a long day. We will be leaving shortly to go to Duke, which is app. an hour and a half to two hour drive. We have been making this trip quite regularly in the past few months. I know some of your kids have had Remicade and are currently getting it. Information from you all here has been very helpful in making the decision to go to Remicade. Thanks for all the wonderful information and support you provide. , Kaylee, 8, JA, Uveitis, ADHD, ODD
Guest guest
I hope it works fast!  Avery is on the Rolincacept and it took a little while to start working.  Will she have to get the shots again?  I hope it didn't hurt her too much.
