Guest guest
Dear Joe, There is a Great need for something like this for sure! Although she tried all she could to stay positive, I watched my mothers life torn to bits as a result of this condition. She, was an avid reader, driving was an important part of her life and she was a small business owner as a decorator who designed, engineered and then made custom draperies and slip covers. Thinking back on how much independence she lost, it breaks my heart. That is exactly what the docs told her, " Sorry, nothing we can do, maybe if it was caught earlier..........we could have done some Lazar treatment " . Whatever! It wasn't a slow progression, it was like over night she lost her sight! She continued her business against all odds for another two years. When she needed her serger threaded (it had 8 needles) she would call me and then have to wait till I could get there, which sometimes took hours as I worked full time too. The third year after the macular degeneration hit she was stricken with Alzheimer's. I felt in my spirit that it was her minds way of saying I can't take any more loss! So I for one sure hope that this method shows a REAL promise of hope for others. No one should have to endure it.
