Wetting of sponges

I have seen the slide show on youtube with the 6 volt lantern godzilla and I

have seen the

pictures of the new easier to make godzilla with the AA, AAA etc. batteries

Everything, for me, is very clear except one thing, and that is about the

wetting of the

sponges. In the side show, you show the wetting of the sponges BEFORE the

godzilla is put

together. Is that the only time they should be wet or do we wet them whenever

we are

ready to use the godzilla even though in the new godzilla, the AAA batteries are

attached

to the sponges.

In the 6 volt lantern godzilla, the wires are sandwiched in the sponges. Do we

soak that

sponge with the wires and then squeeze it out?
