I got this from anouther Alternative Medical therapy list that i am on.

And thought it was relevant to this list, at least for discussion,

not necessarily for recommendation.

I want to learn from this list what parts of this post you think are

relevant.

The recommendation here is strictly 6v or less, never even up to 9v, at

least not in our simple form. For the higher v's, extra gadgets would be

needed to modify the current. I notice the recommendation is to tap the

finger on one of the terminals, but the " experts " probably don't use or

recommend unmodified current like that, do they? When it comes to third

world countries using car batteries, the only one I have seen recommended

here in our simple terminal world is 6v. Very interesting to see this being

discussed out there.

I am also confused as I am a dummy when it comes to electricity. If 9

volts is dangerous how can you safely tap on a 12 volt battery. Should this be

done or not. I have the hood up on a car a lot and wondering if this is safe

and if so how long should you tap it?

When you lean onto the + battery terminal of most except GM [which

use side terminals] - you will have a thickness of fabric to use as

insulation - your LONG shirt sleeve. When you sweat - that wets the

fabric and it tingles as you touch any other metal part [at ground].

Less sweat = less tingle. The estabished industrial threshhold of

current detection is 5 mA - which needs pads of 25 sq " minimum.

The typical pad voltage for usual use is 2.5 volts [at wrists]. If

you use 1 sq " pads, you need less than 0.2 mA so 12.7 - 2.5 = 10.2

V ; 10.2/0.2 = 51K ohms; the minimum series resistance PER 1 SQUARE

INCH PAD AREA.

If your pads are 3 " square, that's 9 sq " so 51K/9 = 5.66K = the

minimum series resistance needed.

BEWARE: The normal fully charged car battery has 12.68V. When the

engine is started - there are 2 normal charging voltages. A

maintenance free battery has the voltage regulator set to 15.3V .

These batteries have NO method to add H2SO4 [acid]. Older ones are

set to 13.9 to 14.2V when running. The 'float charge' value for

both is 13.6V - to maintain charge.

CONCLUSION: 12V can be made to work. IT IS NOT IDIOT RESISTANT!!!!

Joe.
